James Bay

They have a couple of locations in Victoria. Coffee is great. You can buy the beans which I recommend. The baked goods are very good (try the salted caramel donut).

Let me please quantify this review by saying I am a World Barista Champion. I have competed in coffee preparation on the world level for several years. This coffee is the WORST coffee I have ever had. It is overly acidic, has absolutely no crema on their espresso, it is light, under-roasted (and I mean under-roasted not a light roast)... More

Let me preface this by saying that this review is specific to the James Bay location. I do love this place for both the coffee, excellent service and stunning doughnuts. This really is a community coffee shop with lots of locals popping in for meetings, chats and to do work. There aren't a tonne of tables but enough for a... More

I think this was one of the worst coffees I've ever had. I had a drip coffe and it tasted like dishwater, no coffee taste whatsoever. When I commented about it at the counter, they made me an americano but unfortunately, it was no better. When I tried to give feedback - in a calm and gentle manner, not in... More

No atmosphere, not enough tables - young man at the cash does not even greet you or say hello. He's too cool to be polite. We ahould have turned around and left, but the coffee was actually great.

While what has been done is entirely legal, probably completely fine within their agreement with the credit card companies, what was done is, in my mind, completely unethical as it's the only time I've ever come across it in my life. When paying via credit card, the standard option is they key in an amount, you insert your chip card... More

I volunteer on Fridays to pick up the Mail on the way to the grid just so I can pick up a cool hot brew (actually a Quattro espresso Americano in a small cup half water, and one, or two, or three or a half dozen and share ;), of their amazing donuts - or should I say handfuls of... More

Great fresh coffee, roasted onsite. A few locations around town. Discovery St and Zoak Bay Ave both have great baristas . Nice snacks to go with your coffee

This place is good for studying while getting some peace and quiet, while enjoying some good coffee. Friendly service too!
