Good food, good beer

Had lunch and local brewed beer. Since it was cold we sat inside. Not too busy which was nice for a change. In the summer the place is always busy, inside and out on the great patio. Everything our party ordered was good. Server was friendly, helpful and attentive. Will go again.

My boyfriend and I are raving fans of the chicken wings at The Local! On the day of our last visit a few weeks ago, we had our car broken into the evening before which meant we had to cancel our ski trip out at Mount Washington - we had been planning for that trip for over a month! We... More

The view is one of the best in Victoria! My husband and I actually went here two days in a row we loved it so much. Try the cheese and meat plate. It was out of this world. You can sit on their patio and look at the harbor. Our servers both days were nice and friendly.

For a pub, it is good, but nothing stood out vs. other pubs/bars we have been to thus for the average rating. We had a family of 7 people, and the manager still charged us the "mandatory" group surcharge (6+ people) of 18% so ask about this fee before sitting down if you have 6 or more people with you.

In summer, the terrace is crowded and inviting. This place serves a wide variety of beers and trendy food, attractively served. The location is great, right by the side walk, on Wharf Street, making it a hard-to-resist stop after a long walk downtown.

They have a huge selection of local beer. I had the fish and chips (halibut) perfectly cooked and the batter was absolutely amazing. So crisp and light. The most I've ever paid for one piece of halibut, but hey, it's touristy there. Server was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Stopped in after a Saturday night theatre performance for a beer and some nachos. Excellent nachos and Blue Buck, one of Victoria's best beers!, was on tap. Busy local crowd a mix of young, middle and old and super loud with the big screen tvs playing all the games. Happening place on Wharf Street on a Saturday night!

A fun place to stop for refreshments and people watching. This is a very popular place so you may be sharing a table with some other fun people. We drank Dark Matter and Race Rocks and ate the popular yam fries and the delicious mussels & clams dish in green curry sauce - yum!!! Service was very good even though... More
