Great food!

Was looking for dinner near the hotel we were staying at and saw people on the patio and figured it was worth a shot! We had great food and great beer! My husband ate the fish and chips and I had the Crab Fritters and the Boston Chowder. Best Chowder I have ever had! Topped that off with their... read more

The patio at the Local is awesome, the drinks served here are deliciously refreshing. Our service here was a bit slow but it was a very busy day as the weather has been great. The food here is tasty and quick. Worth coming back

I sat outside in the sunshine overlooking the wharf/pier, on the patio, enjoying a wonderful cold local Phillips White Bark beer that holds a light citrus taste. For lunch I enjoyed a Seared Tuna Quinoa Salad. Delicious salad with chopped cucumber, red pepper, green onions, cilantro, sweet cabbage, edamene beans, quinoa and cashews with a lovely light ginger sesame dressing.... More

A nice little bar with a great patio and friendly staff. Great place to stop in for a drink or two and enjoy the scenery from the patio.

We've eaten here many times and its usually always outside in the patio area on a warm and sunny afternoon. Was just there again and had a great meal with great service and such a great place to sit outside enjoying the sun....and the people watching is not too bad either! Very good menu and if you drink wine also... More

Tthe first week of January with Chrismas winding down and outdoor dining closed because of weather, on a Tuesday night....The Local was really quiet and not impressive as far as atmosphere goes. But the reason that we took a seat was because their special was some called their "carving", Roast Beef with Yorkshire pudding. It just sounded like what we... More

As a local of Victoria, I had never eaten here. Neither had anyone I knew, so I always found the name ironic, as with the location I deemed it to be a tourist spot. However while downtown we decided to stop in for dinner, and I was very impressed. The service was amazing. Super friendly and prompt. The food was... More

My wife and I went to this as we heard some comments that it was a good place to go for some pub food We ordered calamari and chicken wings, calamari was very pasty with no flavour, chicken wings had a very bland flavour, and these were salt & pepper wings. Plunging them in ranch dip made them somewhat eatable.... More

First timer for this restaurant, great choice on our part! We went on Saturday evening after the Victoria's annual Christmas parade. The pub was not busy at this time, we were hungry! We both tried the tomato bisque soup and I tried the halibut burger & my better half went with a buffalo wrap! Both choices were very tasty &... More

Well placed on the roadside in Wharf Street, with its outdoor tables close to all the action. Food is well priced and varied - mostly quick assembly food to accompany the large range of beers on offer. Good for lunch and early evening - and people watching. Service good and staff very helpful
