This place was once amazing! Had worked up to #4 in victoria in trip advisor... Because of many uncontrollable circumstances, it didn't work fiscally for the owner, so he changed format and staff... It now really an extension of the pub and as a former employee it is very disheartening to read the reviews of the current product. So judge... More

We love this little restaurant , attached to the Penny Farthing Pub in Oakbay. Just a few tables on a sunlit sidewalk patio... comfy chairs... good, cheerful service and excellent selection of great pub-type food. The turkey wrap was wonderful and another member of our party really enjoyed the Shepherds pie... it was even on special. Always a good experience... More

it's billed as a wine and chacuterie bar. It has the right look, feel and ambiance. The decorative pig is a fine touch. So we did what you are supposed to do - we went for lunch and sampled the chacuterie selection, some tapas and some wine. It was quiet so the service was duly quick and attentive. We appreciated... My wife and I enjoyed this restaurant in a previous visit and after recently having a drink at the adjoining Penny Farthing Pub, decided to go again. Apparently there's a new chef and a slightly different menu. . . and it shows. My wife had the halibut cheeks slider and it lacked flavour (partly because there was very little wasabi... More

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time with friends - an evening that was planned weeks in advance and eagerly anticipated. I have to say, Vis a Vis has all the ambiance of a hip happening Bistro but our server was forgetful and inattentive. Which is forgivable if the food is good, but sadly, it wasn't. I ordered... More

We live close to this restaurant... and really want it to be successful. In fact, we've eaten there three times. Each time has been less enjoyable than the previous occasion. And last night may indeed be the last. Oddly enough, the place has all the potential to succeed. Great location, very attractive room. But last night was ... well... horrific!... More

We were just walking through Oak Bay Village and saw the Monday Special: Fish and Chips 2 for 1. We are tourists, so why not? The server was delightful, the halibut coating thin and crispy, hand-cut fries and a lovely glass of house wine, plus a visit to see the "Pig", and we fell in love with Vis a Vis.... More

We booked this restaurant for our Valentines meal and were expecting the charcuterie and tapas style dining experience as advertised on their website. When we got there were disappointed to read a very different menu than what was posted to their website. This had been our reason for choosing this restaurant in the first place. The recently changed menu now... More

I met a friend there for dinner at 5:30pm, and we were one of the few tables that were occupied. (good thing cuz i was hungry) Our server was great. His drink suggestion of a cucumber sparkling wine was perfect and refreshing. My friend and I loved our food. Great place! I can't wait to go there for date night... More

The "small plates" that are served here are ideal for the indecisive. Two small plates are enough for an adult meal for most people if accompanied along with a side of vegetables. Bison and Octopus were amongst the offerings. Use the website to take a look at the menus and wine list. A glass of wine cost about 20 dollars.
