We enjoyed how quiet the restaurant was and the fresh flowers on every table. The POUTINE was delicious! As for everything else we had it was ok.

We've eaten lunch at this restaurant a couple of times and it's always been great. The food has been tasty and nicely served in a timely manner. This time, we arrived at noon and there were fewer people than normal there. We sat at a window table and waited almost 5 minutes for the server to bring water and menus.... More

Service was incredibly slow; it took almost an hour to get our meals after our orders were taken. Slow service with the drinks as well. Perhaps they were short staffed, but the restaurant was not crowded, and we were puzzled by the poor service. The food was nothing special and some in our party of 7 thought the prices were... More

Been to the bistro half a dozen times over the past year. Great service, consistently good locally sourced menu items, some nights there is live music, reasonable prices and close to home. We will continue to go back - especially for the Por' Boy!

Fantastic selection of benedicts and hashes. Awesome Caesar cured me of the fuzzy headed excess of the night before. Would definitely recommend

A find while walking around the neighborhood. Inquired about the daily special and returned for dinner. A pint and half dozen oysters were a delight. Acoustic music inside wafted to the outside patio. Very pleasant, service great. Followed with french onion soup and a chowder, both well prepared and tasty. Final entree was moules (mussels) with a delicious white wine,... More

In good weather you can choose from several tables on the outdoor patio in front, plus plenty more inside or you could sit at the bar. There is live music, often a good small jazz combo, every Monday, Friday and Saturday night. The acoustics to tend to amplify sounds at other tables or from the band, so if that's not... More

It's a pretty little cafe with an interesting menu and wine list. Prices and quality are fair. The location is in a residential area serving the locals and guest accommodations.

We've dined here a few times in the last 5 years - pleasantly surprised that the food and service is good, perhaps even better with time. They have specials on weekdays and a weekend brunch menu (both days) that is outstanding. Creative eggs bennys, very tasty! We sat outside on the patio, enjoying Victoria's extended summer.

I'm not a local here, as I live in Southern California...but I do know my way around Victoria as this is where my folks have lived for more than 25 years. I always think of Heron Rock Bistro as a really great place for breakfast or lunch. That was until my dad suggested I try it for dinner. I'm glad... More
