Bustling tourist restaurant with plenty of choice and good service

We went for dinner whilst on a 3 day trip to Vancouver island. It was a very hot day and people sitting outside were being blinded by the early evening sun. They gets lots of people in from cruise liners at lunchtime. It was a Wednesday and they had a great deal on wine so we had a good bottle... read more

The appies were best! The torpedo prawns, Kalamari and cold Oysters were the well prepared and highly flavour! The price point however is a bit more than your average restaurant but the food was great. I am still a bit mixed on the pasta - It was buttery but lacked a depth of flavour.

If you're looking for FRESH seafood, the this is the place for you. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Just above the harbour. Lots of salmon, crab, lobster, oysters and other nautical delights. This is highly recommended and easily lived up to the reputation. Bon appetite.

Ate appies only ... Tower of oysters - great , my favourite to share. (18 oysters , 3 varieties). Lobster bisque was " pretty good" says husband. Mom enjoyed her bacon, kale & Parmesan salad. We then shared another appie trio - coconut prawns ( with an awesome curry dip), crab cakes with chutney ... Skip these! Not good. And... More

Great food and yummy dessert. Service good, server was friendly. Was pretty warm sitting in upper area on 84 degree day though. Pretty spendy. Would eat there again.

I had dinner at Nautical Nellies with friends. Nice atmosphere. Crowded. Our server tried to do his best. On the expensive side. Seafood combo, pricey. I had the prawns linguini, very good. My friends had fish & Chips, they ate only a portion of their meal. They said it had to much breading and the fish wasn't cooked all the... More

Wow! You gotta try this place .... A bit pricey, but excellent food and service! We have been at least 6 times, and very consistently awesome.

NN came very highly recommended so expectations were high among our party of six. The place itself is well kept, the decor simple and the lighting muted. The waiting staff were polite and attentive, but there was a lack of a welcoming feel as we entered, quite different from just about everywhere else we'd been in Canada up to that... More
