I first visited Rodney's in Toronto in the 90's and was impressed with their steamers and oysters. Since then, every time I visit Toronto or Vancouver, I always try to visit them at least once. I've never been disappointed in over 20 years. The place on Hamilton this time was packed but the service remained really friendly. Above all, the... More

Having been to Rodney's a couple of times previously while traveling through Vancouver on guys-only fishing trips, I wanted to take my wife there during our stay. The title of this review sums up my experience this time as in the past. The seafood is great; it is very much a fun, happening, local scene; and it doesn't take itself... More

All I wanted for my birthday was an oyster dinner, and Rodney's Oyster House in Yaletown certainly delivered. The raw oysters were as fresh and delicious as any I have eaten, and the fried oysters I enjoyed for my entrée were magnificent. The pan-fried oysters were crisp but plump and juicy. And they were huge! Although we arrived fairly early... More

It may be deserved, but I will surely get flak for this next statement. Rodney's is by far the best oyster house and my my favorite oyster house. And that coming from a Baltimore boy who spent summers on the eastern shore of Maryland as well as the Gulf coast of panhandle FL. Perfectly fresh oysters. Kusshi, Duke, Malpec, Fanny... More

With an all male service staff that thinks they can be as offhand as they like, the excellent food this restaurant service is compromised. For example, when I asked for a cocktail (I saw someone had a Caesar) I was told " You can ask for a cocktail but you won't get one here". They don't make them, strictly wine... More

My un-hip husband and I had dinner at Rodney's Yaletown location on our first night in too-too hip Vancouver. If you are open to the casual atmosphere, the young crowd, and the noise, you will have fun, as we did, while enjoying the irony of music from the 60s (e.g., "Wild Thing") being played loud and hard in a restaurant... Tucked away in Gastown (52 Powell St) is Rodney's 2nd ? branch. Oysters, fish and chips, fish stews,... served by muscular males in black T-shirts with naughty slogans who serve a smile and your wine glass until it overflows. It all makes for a great welcoming experience. Strangely enough the fun and lively atmosphere is never disturbing so this is... More

Amazing oysters, muscles & crab - best I have ever had & wonderful atmosphere! We enjoyed our meal and night out a lot, but dinner for 2 with one glass of wine for 1 of us came to $120 - which is more understandable being seafood but still seems extortionate to me!

Rodney's Oyster Bar was anything but busy when we decided to visit. It was midweek and the night was wet and rainy. But it had this entrance which invited curiosity and there was no obvious sign that it was in fact, a restaurant. Upon entry the restaurant appeared to be very inviting and funky. Different. As it turned out it... More

Nice evening meal at Rodney's in Gas Town area of Vancouver. Great selection of Oysters with Rodney's providing a unique selection of seafood/hot sauces to accompany them. The sides that accompanied the main courses we had were pretty limited, but extra options available.Fun, casual atmosphere, servers were very knowledgable about the multiple of oysters offered, some domestic and some from...
