Buzzy restaurant with great seafood

Located in Yaletown, Rodney's is a local institution and a must visit for seafood lovers. It has a New England style decor, with a busy and buzzing atmosphere, with great music, friendly chatty waiters and delicious food. You can sit up at the bar, if you are lucky to get a free seat!..and watch... read more

Thankfully the food was good because the service was awful. We did have a reservation and the hostess was friendly and nice. After that, it went downhill. After a few minutes of sitting at our table the server asked what we wanted to drink (two of the four were there) we ordered and our drinks came – the other ladies... More

I had some time on my own in Yaletown before I met others later in the evening. I was hungry and stumbled upon Rodney's Oyster Bar. It was a taste revelation. Being from Australia, I am used to the sublime Sydney Rock oysters as well as the larger Pacifics from South Australia, however these oysters from Vancouver Island were just... More

The staff was great and very accommodating to our party of 7. They fit us in when they were booked. The oysters did not disappoint and seafood salad was amazing!Several in our party enjoyed the garlic shrimp and the chowder! We went to the False Creek location and found it to be a bit warm, but the temp were high... More

Rodney's in Yaletown, Vancouver, BC was excellent. Bobby, our waiter was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We had the best ever crab cakes, and the potato encrusted halibut was fantastic. A little expensive, but worth it

I joined a few colleagues for the $1.50 oysters and $5 draft beer and we were very happy with the quality of the oysters, the great Granville island beer and the excellent service. It was well worth the 15 minute walk from Canada place.

I call this restaurant "non-Yaletown" as it is casual, fun and energetic without having that pretentious feeling of the area. You know they have been doing something right when they have been in business at the same spot for over 20 years! Dress-up, dress down, have fun. Ask for Ian if you go and see if he is shucking away...he... More

The two of us walked in for an early dinner on Canada Day, which is why I think we were lucky enough to score a table right away; everyone else was gathering for the parade. However, the place did fill up right after we sat down. The service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was a little loud for my... More

We went early, with no reservation and had to grab a seat in the back. Appetizer selections were nice. Service was a bit slow. Fun atmosphere. Fun music. I would definitely go back!

They said they don't take reservations for the bar and then proceeded to seat three people off the street ahead of us after we had waited for a half hour. When i asked why they were seated before us I was told they had a reservation. Making people wait and then not honoring the queue isn't cool. This wasn't the... More
