Amazing ramen

A really small place on Denman street. Great ramen and good service for a very reasonable price. I recommend the spicy garlic ramen which is very rich in flavors. Since it is such a small place it is common that there is a small line outside so you might have to wait to get a table.

We went for lunch, 3 of us and yes it's tiny and yes, there was a line, but it moved very quickly and we ordered when we were in the line so the food was ready pretty quickly once we got a table. The ramen was terrific and hot and the service was quick. All of us got the miso... More

We had the miso ramen. The noodles were great but the broth was just okay. The soup had sliced pork (still cold), green onions and corn but that's all; not the variety of ingredients I expected.

Had a miso ramen with regular broth and fatty shoyu at Kintaro Ramen. The soup is think and tasty. The meat is soft and delicious :) The only complain is that the egg should be included by default.

This was our first Ramen experience. I was expecting something very special, seeing the big lines at Ramen restaurants but this one was salty and too fat, however the flavors were good. The place is too crawded and noisy for our taste but the staff trys to make you fill good.

This is a very popular noodle place. It's Ramen noodles like the the Japanese movie Tampopo, not like in the bricks you get for fifty cents at the grocery store. There is often a big line outside, but it moves pretty quickly, especially as they will take orders from people waiting outside still. The broth is all pork based, so... More

This was our first stop when we arrived in Vancouver. A full house was a good sign and we waited a few minutes for a table. Ramen was excellent and even had to choose from broth style (light, medium, heavy) to type of pork (lean or fat). Wow, a bit intimidating but just go with it. Spicy pork ramen was outstanding... We had to line up for 15 minutes outside the restaurant at 3 p.m. for a bowl of ramen! It's that popular. I ordered the lightest and least fatty of the ramen while my husband ordered the spicy lean pork ramen with loads of garlic, not for the faint of heart. I had to each my gaijin husband how to... My first taste of the broth I was struck by the fatty flavour, I had the Miso Ramen. By the end I couldn't taste much complexity other than fat, miso paste and salt, but I enjoyed the experience overall. I can't say I'm a fan of the corn niblets that were added but that may be just a personal preference.... More
