Heaven on sushi

A very solid sushi joint. I'm not sure why I haven't dined here more often than I have, given that it checks off all the important things I look for in sushi place. 1. Authenticity - The menu isn't filled with crazy rolls or random menu items (i.e. korean barbeque, noodles, etc.) and it... read more

Authenticity - The menu isn't filled with crazy rolls or random menu items (i.e. korean barbeque, noodles, etc.) and it centres around sushi. 2. Fresh, quality... More

Agree with all the other reviewers, very good sushi and the quality is fairly consistent. Unfortunately after very regularly frequenting this place for years, it has progressively become more expensive such that the food is barely worth the price compared to the many other great sushi locations in Vancouver. The waiting time to get into this small restaurant is crowded... More

Perfect little Japanese restaurant that actually has Japanese folks working. Loved it here! We went twice during our trip to Kerrisdale area and it was amazing. The sushi just melted in my mouth and the prices were amazing! I'd definitely go for the sashimi appetizer and order whatever rolls your heart desires! They give you real green tea for free... More

I live in Tokyo and visit Tsukiji Fish Market every week to buy seafood. Family has been in the fish business for close to 500 years. We know fish. We also know that when we visit Vancouver Ajisai is the first place we dine. Hide and his team have no peers on the West Coast. If you want the real... More

Stopped by here for lunch. I arrived early and there was already a line up. I sat at the sushi bar. I ordered the deluxe sashimi and special assorted sushi. The fish was fresh as can be. The service was prompt and the servers were very attentive. I opted for the marinated octopus which had a good balance of flavors.... More

Sushi is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced, especially the bentos. Tiny sushi bar in quaint Kerrisdale, on West 42nd Ave. Friendly and efficient wait staff.

Their beef tataki, roasted sushi, and rolls are all amazing!! We keep craving for their food! Can't figure out the reason but Ajisai really stands out from other Japanese restaurants in Vancouver. Expect to see a line-up, but good that it's next to London Drugs so you can go shop around while you wait.

I'm hesitant to write this review because the restaurant seems very busy as it is. Despite plenty of good sushi/japanese places here in the Bay Area, I still can't stop thinking about Ajisai and its incredibly fresh selection of fishes and very affordable price. Expect a wait if you come during prime dinner hours. However, it is definitely worth the... More

Came for lunch. Nice and long menu. Lots of options. Great price. For 12$ miso soup and sushi combo. Seem to be popular on the area. I was lucky and didn't wait but on exit the entrance was packed! You can ask for a quick meal or more elaborate one and you won't be dissapointed

My son and I went to this restaurant last week - he had been told about it by some friends who live in Vancouver. There was a wait - we were told approximately 20 minutes, so we went for a walk and came back - there were some seats opening up very soon. It wasn't long before there was a... More
