Fantastic Indian

I've lived in the Middle East for more than 10 years and have had my fair share of Indian - however this could potentially top the lot. Great atmosphere, great service and excellent food. So flavourful with great portions and reasonably pricing. The mango prawns were a hit, as was the chicken... read more

You have to be adventurous to dine at East is East. We opted for the Silk Road Feast - which is a kind of like a buffet that they bring to you in small dishes - which you get to choose. Dish after dish was delicious and filled with flavour - from chicken masala to wild salmon to mango butternut... More

The food is really good. The chai is fantastic. I often just pop in for a chai to go. It's a great treat an a lovely alternative to coffee without the wait as its on tap, so to speak. I often meet friends for lunch or business colleagues. Nice ambience. The one on main is much brighter than the broadway... More

We visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant looks quite authentic and on the way to our table, we were greeted with a complimentary Chai. East is East offers a tasting menu that is an all-you-can-eat platter for $25, but we opted for some Eastern Roti Rolls that are served with a dhal soup and a green salad.... More

Quite the experience to eat here. We lucked out and got a table right away. Three of us had the "tasting menu" which gives you a great variety of different tastes. Excellent value. Note that the Broadway location is not licensed in case you like a glass of wine with your meal. Very friendly service. Highly recommended.

We arrived at East is East on W. Broadway and were lucky enough to snag the "Sultan Room" strewn with pillows and exotic ambiance. Everyone had The Feast, an all-you-can-eat platter for $25. Order as many more dishes as you able to put down so order this only if you are mega hungry. As always, it was delicious and the... More

We loved the food. The menu is amazing with some really good choices to cater for a wide range of tastes. They serve very good chai. However, we found the service really lacking in terms of enthusiasm and response. We saw many of the servers just busy eating. I presume the owner was not there.

Came here for dinner, a first timer but excited after my boyfriend and his colleague recommended it. It's small and cozy, there's Indian style seating in the back with curtains and benches. The food is very authentic and the shakes are yummy! I had the Silk Route roti rolls, but I requested for them to come unrolled so I could... More

I ate there recently, having been invited out by a friend, while visiting Vancouver. The menu looks good and is very attractive, I tried the salmon rice bowl. The curry was too weak to be remotely close to an Indian dish. The rice seemed to be not a long grain aromatic variety, but more like a par-boiled type. Also, the... More

We have been going to this restaurant for years and I thought it was time to give this place a review. The menu is a combination of Persian, Afghani and Indian cuisine - the food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and attentive. We love going here for lunch but beware the portions are generous so... More
