I was taken here by a friend of mine in Vancouver. It was dinner time and I hadn't eaten all day so I got the feast, which is an all you can eat menu. I had 1 of every single plate on the menu and everything was really good. There wasn't a single thing on there that I didn't enjoy... More

We stopped by this restaurant after the Anthropology museum, but it is only about 15" from down town. The hostess graciously sat 2 of us (the rest of party still parking), and gave us water and samples of their hot chai tea! The menu has mixed indian/eastern food that would please both vegetarians and non vegetarians. My friend and I... More

East is East Review It is always fun when visiting a new place to try out the local restaurants. As a visitor to the Kitsilano area - my first experience was with take out from East is East. We have now tried the take out of the Feast a couple of times. The main dishes we have tried are: the... More

I've lived in the Middle East for more than 10 years and have had my fair share of Indian - however this could potentially top the lot. Great atmosphere, great service and excellent food. So flavourful with great portions and reasonably pricing. The mango prawns were a hit, as was the chicken masala. Enough to take some home for lunch... More

You have to be adventurous to dine at East is East. We opted for the Silk Road Feast - which is a kind of like a buffet that they bring to you in small dishes - which you get to choose. Dish after dish was delicious and filled with flavour - from chicken masala to wild salmon to mango butternut... More

The food is really good. The chai is fantastic. I often just pop in for a chai to go. It's a great treat an a lovely alternative to coffee without the wait as its on tap, so to speak. I often meet friends for lunch or business colleagues. Nice ambience. The one on main is much brighter than the broadway... More

We visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant looks quite authentic and on the way to our table, we were greeted with a complimentary Chai. East is East offers a tasting menu that is an all-you-can-eat platter for $25, but we opted for some Eastern Roti Rolls that are served with a dhal soup and a green salad.... More

Quite the experience to eat here. We lucked out and got a table right away. Three of us had the "tasting menu" which gives you a great variety of different tastes. Excellent value. Note that the Broadway location is not licensed in case you like a glass of wine with your meal. Very friendly service. Highly recommended.

We arrived at East is East on W. Broadway and were lucky enough to snag the "Sultan Room" strewn with pillows and exotic ambiance. Everyone had The Feast, an all-you-can-eat platter for $25. Order as many more dishes as you able to put down so order this only if you are mega hungry. As always, it was delicious and the... More
