I have not been to Congee Noodle House in years, but somehow, my memory of it was a little skewed. I thought it was going to be smoky, hot and packed to the brim. It was none of those. The place has high ceilings, an A/C system that works (so fantastic in the summer), and lots of room for patrons.... More

I've been coming here for years and while the food is generally good, the service and attitude of the servers and cashiers have deteriorated over time. I recently ordered take out and when I went to pay the woman at the cashier barely acknowledged me. Granted she was on the phone with customers but there was no smile or even... More

This is our go-to cheap and easy meal. We always order the same thing... the Hong Kong style minced beef congee and it never disappoints. I'm always surprised how long it stays hot for when we get it to-go. You can leave it out of the fridge for hours and it still maintains a lot of the heat! If you... More

This is a very unassuming Chinese restaurant which seems to be very popular; usually a fairly long line-up when we arrive, although it tends to move fairly quickly. Typical Chinese restaurant with about 20 pages on the menu and, once ordered, you food comes within no more than 10 min. Typical surly service one would expect in this type of... More

Best for its roast duck and seafood noodles. Rice dumplings are great too. All Cantonese cuisine. Just like Hong Kong Cafes. But avoid their branch in Burnaby at Kingsway and Joyce ... stood in line for 30 minutes two weeks ago, someone came well after us, and was given a table immediately! Our last time there!

I was kind of nervous going here because congee noodle king was HORRIBLE. But this is a way better choice! We came and it was full, but we got a table in less than three minutes! The menu is huge and has really fancy dishes, it even has ostrich meat! I got the beef brisket, and it was great! The... More

BBC is where its at for great chinese food. MMMM...I love me some good congee. And here is the best. They cleaned this place up since i was last here. The bowls and plates are all new and the servers have new uniforms. Fish congee was so good and flavorful. My kids love the minced beef congee with the chinese... More

We were there on a Thursday night and it was full.. The service was a little rushed and it was definitely get in, eat and get out. We had the hot and sour soup , the wonton soup and chicken and rice. I would order the wonton soup again for sure! Cafeteria style tables and chairs, quite crowded atmosphere, probably... More

You come here for your fix. All the dishes are typical traditional fare. You will not be disappointed. They also serve king crab and fish so seem to be both quick eatery and full fledged restaurant at the same time. Parking at the back is tight. But you know why!

I've eaten here several times, and always found the food to be fresh, and incredibly fast. It's typical Chinese, with the twist being the Congee which in itself is a unique dish if you've never tried it. Make sure you bring cash, as this restaurant doesn't except plastic....definitely a down side.
