While in Vancouver we really focused on seafood whenever possible but decided on Italian before flying home. We were not disappointed with our selection as the food, service and atmosphere were all outstanding.

my wife and i were in vancouver for the weekend and we really wanted a good itailian dinner. So, we reserved at the Italian Kitchen. Our reservation was for 8.30 and it was busy. As we were we slightly early we sat at the bar before our table was ready. The barman, Joe was very friendly and good. Once we... More

If you love Calamari and lamb or seafood, visit soon. The best Calamari I have ever eaten preceeded a wonderful lamb shank for myself and a perfect salmon dinner for my daughter. The Calamari is served in very traditional manner with strips lightly fried in a delicate coating and then set atop a perfectly seasoned tomato base.Naturally, pastas are a... More

I can honestly tell you, I have gone here dozens of times, and I have never been disappointed and I almost always want to suggest this great spot every time we travel into Vancouver out from the suburbs. Its Italian obviously by the name, however it is a trendy upscale Cactus Club style place as well. We have had as... More

Went for dinner with a colleague who has previously dined here. We had the Pappardelle which has - lamb sausage, potatoes, cabbage, peperoncino, olive oil. Tasted great and a very good sized portion. Not too big and not too small.

Four went on a Sunday evening for a delightful supper. The lobster ravioli was different and delightful. I had Saltspring Island Mussels and cooked to perfection. The wine pairing was perfect, and Okanagan Gwetztraminer. Price was as you should expect fine dining downtown, and I enjoyed the Dine Vancouver special for $40 that included a light but rich dessert.

Perhaps dining during Dine-out Vancouver means you accept a less than wonderful experience; but it shouldn't if the establishment is looking to increase their following. First off, the service was very good -- when I received a cold entrée they made a sincere attempt to make it right. Our server was attentive and welcoming ...kudos for service. The food experience... I went to The Italian Kitchen with my wife and a friend during Dine Out Vancouver. All three of us got the same items: for the appetiser, the Mussels Cioppino; for the entrée, the Fraser Valley Porchetta; and for dessert the Chocolate Sensation. We were very satisfied with the experience: the service was prompt and courteous, the atmosphere was cozy,... More

This is a smart and stylish restaurant that has a great menu and a super friendly and capable staff. My date and I were met at the door by Jen, a very affable hostess. She introduced us to our server, Isabelle who took very good care of us indeed. Isabelle was great helping us to select just the right wine... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
