Our friends who used to live in Vancouver recommended us to this place, and it turned out to be one of the best meals we had in our 15 day trip. To me, it was probably the best sashimi/sushi I had in my life (and I have been to Japan). When you feel like the sashimi was almost melting in... More

I've been living in Vancouver for 10 years. Being a big fan of sushi I have tried ever recommend sushi restaurant I could find and Kibune outshines them all. I lived in Japan in 2002; the decor takes me back there as soon as I walk in the door. Friendly staff. Calm atmosphere takes instantly takes you away from the... More

I've been coming here for 10 years. The decor is like a sushiya off the Ginza. The presentation alone is one of the reasons I keep coming back. Sushi and sashimi stand out but they also have traditional dishes like sukiyaki and yosenabe. The dinner specials are a good deal too. They have a good sake selection too. I recommend... More

This restaurant is like being in JApan. The Owner MR Hidemine Endo has owned and operated this restaurant for about 32 years. Mr. Endo is a craftsman and he makes his food the old fashioned way by hand. Their food is made fresh to order and it is made by hand with loving care and that shows in the taste... More

We went with a large group to Kibune for a memorable and truly delicious meal. The vegetable miso soup for two knocked our socks off. Incredible. They start making it the day before, the flavours are delicate and sophisticated. Big chunks of soft tofu and fresh vegetables give the soup a variety of textures and tastes. Everything we ate was... I would only go back for drinks, probably not even. The service was painfully slow and the food was almost inedible when it finally arrived. This will go down as the worst sushi place I have ever experienced in Vancouver.

Friends recommended this place as one of the most original sushi places in Kitsilano. Our expectations were fully met: the variety of fish available is stunning and of very high quality. All of the rolls are delicious and are simply good focusing on key components as opposed to the ubiquitous, philadelphia- , mango- or fried- creations elsewhere. The intererior is... More

I visit Kibune because one if my Japanese client recommend this one to me and I was not disappointed. This is a very traditional Japanese restaurant and they are good at sashimi, they offer some fish that is hard to find in other Japanese Restaurants. However, the cost is above average if you want so good sashimi.

Traditional style place with sushi bar and booths. No fussy fusion food - just no nonsense great Japanese style cooking. The sushi was of a high quality - I've had better but this was just fine for a casual Sunday night with the kids. Was very impressed though with the cooked specials which would be hard to beat even in... More

Hubby and I used to come here all the time while we were just dating. Due to some "relocating", we haven't been to Kibune for at least 5 years. The food was every bit as good as I remembered, if not better. Yes, there are those who may say the prices are a bit on the high side, but you... More
