Our favourite Asian/Chinese restaurant. Surroundings are unprtentious, pleasant and comfortable but not flashy or elaborate. Food is consistent and good. We have been going for many years. A great local family restaurant with a good variety. Well cooked, flavourful and nice nicely presented dinners. No msg. Well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Our overall meal at Ginger and Chili was very average. Perhaps it was our later dining hour – some of our dishes needed small improvements that would have made them so much better. Vegetarian spring rolls were a nice starter - very crisp and flavourful, but really…pre-packaged plum sauce??? Sweet and sour boneless pork were clumped together and the sauce... More

We visited on Sunday, not really thinking through what we wanted to eat, so we went with a set menu. The stir fried beef veggie platter had a curious mix of veggies: cabbage, carrot, chestnuts (which tasted ripe), celery. Beef was tasty. The white rice was old & dry. The deep fried lemon chicken came with a hair (just one... More

Awesome Szechwan style Chinese food in a clean, casual atmosphere. The ginger beef and the green beans are awesome!

We love the dishes at Ginger and Chili! This is a family run business that is a trusted Chinese restaurant in Point Grey in Vancouver. They have a delicious green bean dish that you need to try! Their ginger beef, and lemon chicken are also great! The actual restaurant is not known for its decor, although it is comfortable enough.... More

I have just had the most appalling experience with this restaurant. A day after receiving a take out order I had the restaurant banging on my front door, and even try to open the door, because the delivery person had charged me $10 too little for the order (they keyed in the amount to the credit card terminal so I... This is our go-to place for an easy and fast dinner. It may not look particularly nice, but the food is fantastic and incredibly good value. The menu is massive, so it might be a good idea to bring along someone who knows their Chinese food! I adore their eggplant and tofu dish, the ginger beef and the sweet and... More

We had not been to Ginger and Chili for awhile so decided to go for dinner last night as we have previously had very good meals here. It was not busy last night when we went for dinner, there were only 2 tables occupied – l being a large table at the back of the restaurant. This is a small... More

OK - so, I could probably have tracked down somewhere good in Boston/Cambridge, or New York city, but I was in Vancouver after a brief stopover in Toronto, and I was dying for decent Chinese food. On pretty much every visit in the last several years, to friends and colleagues in Vancouver, I eat here at some point. But, I... More

This is a family operated eatery that I always look forward to visiting. This is not a fancy upscale room, but a neighbourhood icon that has earned a trusted reputation. Jenny and her staff work hard to bring the food fresh and hot every time. The food is consistently good and well-portioned, and the menu widely varied. Prices are reasonable.... More
