Ok place, reasonable food, prompt service

Prompt service. Tidy washroom. I came in for lunch. Food ok: beef special with soup was $9.25 plus tax. Unremarkable decor.

This is a nice and convenient neighborhood Chinese restaurant. We enjoyed the minced beef with parsley soup, prawns with peppery salt (with shells), snow peas, shiitake mushrooms and bamboo shoots, orange peel pork and white rice. We managed to finish our meal as the dishes are not large. While the cooking is geared towards the Caucasian patrons we found the... More

I always love going to Ginger and Chili. Love their Ginger Beef and everything always seems really fresh. Szechuan Green Beans aren't as good as they used to be but still really enjoy them. Orange Peel Chicken also excellent and there are so many wonderful things on the menu. I always try to visit several times when I'm in Vancouver... More

Food and service were good, Lunch specials are the best deal. Lunch specials include soup, rice, salad and main dish. I recommend the Orange Peel Beef.

Ginger and Chili has moved just a few doors east to 4409 West 10th. The new location is brighter, roomier, much cleaner, and the food is much better! We were quite disappointed with the food during our last visit, but had an exceptionally good supper during this visit. The vegetarian spring rolls were hot, crisp and light, but only came... More

This is my favourite Chinese restaurant, partly because I like it spicy, but also because they never botch the classics (hot & sour soup, ginger beef, ...) and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly even when they're busy. Prices are reasonable and the selection is (as usual) endless. Beer is available. Recently they are moving (have moved?) a few doors... More

Arrived here on a rainy Vancouver day. Have often eaten here, but never wrote a review. One of my favorites. Good service, great, ample meals. Often have the ginger beef (very authentic), and it is delicious. Lady who runs the dining room is very friendly and accommodating!!! Chef cooks some of the best Chinese in the neighborhood!!

We order from Ginger and Chili often. We enjoy their Szechuan green beans, pepper and peanut chicken and their eggplant. The price is right and the portions are generous. They are also willing to adapt some of the dishes to suit dietary needs.

Our favourite Asian/Chinese restaurant. Surroundings are unprtentious, pleasant and comfortable but not flashy or elaborate. Food is consistent and good. We have been going for many years. A great local family restaurant with a good variety. Well cooked, flavourful and nice nicely presented dinners. No msg. Well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Our overall meal at Ginger and Chili was very average. Perhaps it was our later dining hour – some of our dishes needed small improvements that would have made them so much better. Vegetarian spring rolls were a nice starter - very crisp and flavourful, but really…pre-packaged plum sauce??? Sweet and sour boneless pork were clumped together and the sauce... More

Staying in West Point Grey

Neighborhood Profile
West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
