Fantastic

My husband, son and I stopped by here without a reservation for an early lunch. We were able to be seated immediately at a long family style rectangle table. There was an arrangement of tall bamboo plants down the middle for privacy. To start with we shared thin slices of kobe beef that we... read more

I wanted to compare this restaurant with one we often go in France. Food is excellent and service is fast with no rush though. I liked the organization of the kitchen and the way the brigade communicate. If you wish some intimacy this is not the place, if you're looking for an overwhelming linguistic experience this is the place.

This place was very busy and we could see why. Nice food, nice atmosphere. The kobe beef was delicious but not a lot in each serving (though this was expected due to the high quality and price of the beef!). The salmon carpaccio was beautiful too. Highly recommend but not for a long, quiet dinner.

Japanese food experience like never before! Tapas style Japanese fusion food with great service, modern decor, very fast service. Loved everything we tried. Tempura corn, sashimi salad, and especially beef tongue that you cook yourself on a hot stone - out of this world. Snow crab special with red caviar and wild rice were the best Asian food ever! Highly... More

Came here the first time for one of my girlfriend's birthday and I thought the food was amazing. So I came back for my own birthday. However, it is very disappointing. The food is not as good and there are lots of other good izakaya restaurant now. The services isn't that great, they rush us to give them back the... More

I and my son went to this Kingyo without a reservation because hotel concierge recommended. But we don't recommend at all. There were couple people waiting and a guy just showed up and got a table even thought he didn't have a reservation either because he knew the stuff working at the restaurant. This stuff pretended as if his friend... More

We read that Kingyo was tied for third best Japanese restaurant in Vancouver so went for lunch. the interior is unique and intriguing with Japanese wooded walls, table and artifacts, and we were lucky to sit at the communal table with faux bamboo down th middle of it. The staff were in a dynamic rhythm, calling and responding to each... More

Great flavours. Efficient and friendly service. Open late. My second visit on occasional business trips to Vancouver. Can't wait to come again.

With girlfriend for lunch we had a great time. We made a reservation. Started with fizzy lemonade and salmon carpatio. It has roasted garlic which was nice. I had curry and she had tuna bowl was delicious. Just like in japan. Of note the restaurant was very hot. Will return and recommend strongly.
