Amazing Lunch!

Brilliant restaurant and fantastic service. Perfect for both meat eaters and vegans. Would definitely come again. Try the Kobe Beef on a hot stone. Also all sashimi is incredibly fresh and delicious.

This restaurant is very popular at the WestEnd area of Vancouver near Stanley Park. The place is always packed with the younger crowd with a buzz in the air. The staff is most welcoming and attentive. There is a wide range of inventive food choices. The ingredients are fresh and healthy. We started with the fried corn pieces coated with... More

My husband and I decided to try Kingyo for our last dinner before flying out of town, and we are SO glad we did. We read overwhelmingly positive reviews online and I have to say that the hype is real. We walked up at 5:30 pm without a reservation on a Monday thinking the restaurant would be slow. We were... Vancouver is a great city for izakaya restaurants. So many great ones that although I've had Kingyo on my radar for a long time, I hadn't gotten around to it until tonight. I'm glad I finally got there. It's not my favorite, but it's close. Kingyo made some great items. Starting with simple basics like steamed rice, which was indeed... More

We had dinner here while in Vancouver. It is a great spot for good Japanese food without the fuss. Must try items include the corn and the black cod. Best to book as it can get busy!

My friend and I had the deluxe bento box and it was awesome! My brother had a vegetarian dish from the lunch menu and it was amazing. Service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a very nice environment.

We didn't know what to expect when we arrived. Service was efficient - staff regularly checked to see how things were going. We cooked some of our meal hibachi style. Delicious

PURIFICACION GONZALEZ MORENO/MAY Last week I been here!!!! For me this restaurant is an experience to remember! I was waliking in the street, looking for a Japanese restaurant, there is to many in West End, I stoped by this restaurant that was not open that time so I standed by the line watting for the restaurant to be open, while... We love love this restaurant. Definitely our favorite in Vancouver, and we look forward to coming here whenever we are in town. Sashimis are fresh, great Kobe beef on hot stone, and make sure to make a reservation for special lunch set a few days prior. You will never regret it!

Since I live on the East coast of the U.S. I don't get to go to many restaurants like this. We stopped here en route from Whistler to Seattle. I had a delicious meal thanks to the knowledgeable choices of food made by my son and his wife. Great atmosphere, great food and very reasonable prices. Definitely recommended.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
