My husband and I delighted in our dinner at KIngyo. We shared THINLY SLICED SOCKEYE SALMON TOPPED WITH SHAVED ONIONS, GARLIC CHIPS, WASABI MAYO, GREEN ONIONS, YUZU ZEST, AND SOY BASED DRESSING PLUS GENOVESE SAUCE and KOSHIHIKARI” RICE IN A SIZZLING STONE BOWL. The sushi and sashimi were delicious, fresh, and remarkably inexpensive, but there is a limited selection. We... More

Good atmosphere and very nice staff, but we found the food to be quite ordinary. Not really sure why they are ranked so high here, but there is certainly far better japanese food in Vancouver. in fact there is far better Japanese food on Denman street, for that matter. Service was enthusiastic and friendly, but not too competent. Dishes came... More

I was wary when I was seated and read the menu. It was so much different from any other menu I had ever seen but the restaurant had been recommended to me and I decided to give it a go. All the items being served left and right looked beautiful and mouthwatering and mine was equally delicious. I ordered a... More

The food was beautifully presented. Tasted nice. Portions average. The menu very varied. A must see if your in the area. The service as excellent. The lay out of the place is really good.

We had a very good dinner last evening, finding two seats at the bar within 5 minutes of arrival on a busy Saturday night. The green salad was excellent as were the tiger prawns. The calamari was good but very greasy. The house sushi roll was also excellent. The small plates were very ample so watch out you don't over-order.

This is a delightful little place with a friendly and charming staff. We had never had Japanese tapas before so didn't order too wisely. Though we had about the right number of dishes, 4 for 2 people, they were all sort of the same. I would recommend a greater variety and I think you would have a better culinary experience.... More

My boyfriend and I went last weekend and we absolutely loved it. We ordered a variety of items and each dish was delicious. The flavours all compliment each other really well. While the place isn't cheap I think it is a fair price for the quality of the ingredients. We had five dishes (including the kobe beef..my favourite!) and four... More

I love this place. It's like eating in Japan. Be sure to make reservations or prepare yourself for a wait, especially during high season. The tuna seared in a tonkatsu-like method was delicious, as was the black cod in lemon miso. The tossed green salad was refreshing and yummy. The high points of the evening for us, though, were the... More
