A pleasant surprise. We'll be back.

We didn't know what to expect when we chose this restaurant. We have both been to Italy and we were in the mood for authentic Italian food, but would this place live up to our expectations? It did. What a pleasant and delicious surprise. Tucked away in a small Gastown alley, this restaurant is as authentic as it gets. after a few days of BC pub food it was nice to have quiet, gracious service and wonderful food.

This restaurant is located just off the main Street in the Gastown district. We were in this touristy area for three nights and this place was a standout. Because I love Italian food and seafood, I ordered the seafood risotto, which was superb. The risotto was creamy without being mushy and it was loaded with shrimp, clams, fish, etc. Ours... More

Tucked down a little side street not too far from the convention center. The food was amazing and service was excellent. Make sure to get there before 6:30 to take advantage of the happy hour and dinner specials!

The service here was impeccable. We really enjoyed our waiter who chose a wonderful bottle ofred wine for us. I had the osso bucco which was very good although the portion was a bit small. All and all the food was good but not too memorable.

Authentic Italian cuisine at sensible prices. Try the Veal Saltimbocca - it's great ! This restaurant is one of many in Gastown so the competition is fierce and Al Porto holds its own very well.

We stumbled upon this place and were completely blown away by the food, service and ambiance. We were served by Cheri who was phenomenally present and professional. We lucked out by getting there in time for the early bird special so we were able to get a salad and an entree for $27. Amazing food! The lamb was off the... More

We dined here recently as a party of five, arriving mid afternoon. We received a warm welcome and soon settled down to a lovely meal. Our waiter was very friendly and very attentive. Some of us chose the very reasonably priced fixed price menu, while others went for the a la carte menu. The calamari was a big favourite with... More
