We joined friends here when we were visiting Vancouver; staff at our hotel recommended Al Porto. All of us enjoyed the food a great deal: the pasta was well-prepared, the waiter was very friendly and helpful, and we indulged in gelato for dessert. What could be bad? (Our friend had lasagne--which he said was outstanding.) Although this area is known... More

I ended up in Vancouver on business during dine out week, which is a program I love. The welcome was pleasant, and I had the good fortune to sit in Peter's area. Just the right level of warmth, happy to recommend tings from the menu (and not the cheapest ones, so I conclude he really does want you to enjoy... More

My family went to the restaurant for the Dine Out Vancouver event. The whole table had to order from the Dine Out menu or the regular menu (no mixing). We decided to take the $28 Dine Out menu. There was a choice of three appetizers, four main courses and two desserts. We were served bread with Balsamic vinegar and olive... More

Stopped by here with a friend on a very quiet night recently as I was in the mood for real pizza. The food did not disappoint and neither did the drinks. The service wasn't overly friendly but maybe that's more original Italian attitude than a typical Canadian one. Overall I would come back to try other things on the menu,... More

Splendido Risotto, Osso Bucco and two other Veal Dishes were very good; simply delicious. Obviously the chef or all the cooks are super good! Portion size wasn't too big, prices ranged from 24.95 and up for a dinner entree. The place was busy, a popular spot for every age I noticed. Service was mediocre and may be even arrogant, probably... More

We had the pleasure of randomly stopping here for lunch while visiting the city of Vancouver. This restaurant situated in gas town was very charming like stepping back Into a real authentic Italian eatery. With brick walls and white table cloths we felt a little under dressed however they were busy and the matre Di made us feel Welcome. We... More

We dined here with some friends and really enjoyed our time here. This was our first time dining here and we loved it. The food was good as was the service. We all left very satisfied with our meals. The views of the harbour are nice. I recommend this restaurant and will be back.

I normally avoid touristy areas. Al Porto has managed to cave up a little section of Gastown for this nice restaurant. The location is also great for hosting small events (upstairs) with beautiful views to the harbor. Servers are attentive.

We hadn't been to Al Portos' for a long while, so we had no expectations. The restaurant decor is nice and rustic with bling and sparkle everywhere. Caesar salad was delish and the veal lasagna was amazingly light and flavorful. The veal marsala was not the best, veal was tender but sauce was meh..... Service was excellent. We will definitely...
