On our last day in vancouver we had tired of walking around killing time and decided on an early dinner before heading to the airport. We picked this restaurant on spec and were glad we did, The atmosphere on entering was cool and welcoming, the staff attentive and the food very good. The fact we had arrived during the early... We were walking the Gaslight District, ventured down a side street/alley and spied the entrance to this superb restaurant. From the signage, we thought that it was probably a casual pizza restaurant. It turned out to be a full service, full menu Italian eatery. The decor is inviting, the food and presentation was absolutely fantastic, the service was excellent, and... More

We asked our tour manager for some suggestions for our last evening of our trip and she came up with the Al Porto Italian Restaurant in the Gas Town area of Vancouver. We hadn't made a reservation but were lucky enough to get a table after a ten minute wait and were shown to a large table in an area... More

We were looking for a nice simple meal before heading home and stumbled on this place not far from the steam clock. The restaurant overlooks the harbour but you can't see much because of the railway line behind Water Street. The food was very tasty with the pizza authentic Italian (thin crust, wood oven and simple toppings). The service was... More

We came in with no expectation having been looking for a trattoria that looked ok. The downstairs of the restaurant was reserved for a party and when we went in the entrance off the main street it looked busy. The staff were very friendly though and greeted us in very welcoming way, got us a table by the window and... More

We reserved a table - thankfully as the place was really buzzing. Service was efficient, and the king crab was delicious. Good wine selection and not overpriced for the quality. Recommended.

In spite of a good location, a nice room with pleasant daylight at lunch time and competent service, this restaurant was a disappointment. The daily special first course, a mushroom soup was OK. However the main course was really bad. Bad pasta, On the menu, it looked quite interesting. Under the"fresh pasta" category: squid ink linguine with seafood and saffron... More

We staggered in after a day on Grouse Mountain, bit tired, unkempt and still wit a daypack aboard. These guys treated us like royalty, we had beer on the table in under a minute and had very nice food, quickly, reasonably cheaply and the waiters were genuinely friendly and efficient. Perfect place to end our day.

We walked in with no reservation and no expectations. We had good, friendly and professional service and I loved the wood oven pizzas. Pasta was good too. It was reasonable priced and it was a cozy and busy restaurant under ground. I would definitely go back! This was real Italian food.
