Lovely neighbourhood location, cozy atmosphere, great food, and above all, exceptional service. Our waiter (tall, British gentleman) was one of the best we have ever had anywhere. A perfect combination of attentiveness and congeniality and obviously very well trained. Thorough knowledge of proper service including not clearing away plates until everyone is finished eating - something rarely seen nowadays as... More

We were staying at the Buchan Hotel next door and decided to eat here. The fixed price menu with wine pairing was delicious and tasty. The staff gave a personal touch in a well decorated, warm and cosy setting. Highly recommend it.

After neglecting this neighbourhood gem for a while, we've been back a few times within the last month. We're asking ourselves why we haven't made it a regular stop. The room is cozy on a drizzly evening. Service is excellent - friendly without being overly familiar. Very professional. The menu is not long but covers all the bases, especially some... More

I needed a plan for Valentine's Day in Vancouver. Somewhere close to home and completely unique. The year before my girlfriend and I signed up for a walking tour of the West End, and had been instructed to meet at the Buchan Hotel (http://www.buchanhotel.com/our-hotel/) on Haro St. When we arrived I was shocked to see a small 'historic' neighbourhood hotel... Such a wonderful restaurant! The owner and his brother (who was our server) were both knowledgeable, friendly and made us really feel at home in this restaurant. We were warmly greeted by all who worked there - the wait staff, the bartender and the owner. It is definitely a neighborhood place - I think we were probably the only two... More

A cold and rainy Tuesday night and glad to say, a warm and friendly welcome from a very professional staff. Excellent plate of antipasto to share with my partner and she really enjoyed the fish soup (mains), while I had the melt in the mouth beef. The Gnocchi with the beef was a revelation, no potato, just semolina flour, made... More

Overall food quality and meal experience was good. I usually don't like to use the word "nice" but this place just felt nice. A comfy, friendly neighbourhood spot.

We had recently experienced an enjoyable family dinner at the Adesso Bistro in Vancouver. This Italian restaurant is located int eh bottom of an older hotel in the West End of Vancouver. We felt very welcome by the staff and sat down to a nice table. We were given very tasty focaccia bread to start with and accompanied those with... More

Not sure if it was because of the volume, or the Christmas set menu. The food at best was a 3-3.5 star, while the busboys were professional and polite, our server to us felt like she was testy and feisty. First appetizer was a choice between chestnut soup, squid salad or fried rice beef ball. We had the squid salad... More
