Best run restaurant I've ever seen

We got there early, at about 5:15. There was a line of about 20-30 people, and the people who had gotten there earlier than us had drinks and were relaxing on the lovely patio outside the front. When we were all seated (no one was left in line), the wait staff quickly started bringing around... read more

Amazing atmosphere, great cocktails an unique cosmopolitan Indian food with excellent service. Must have a cocktail if you drink, also try the lamb popsicles.

We had heard about the place and was recommended by my son during his previous visit. We made it a point to locate and go for early dinner. It lived up to the expectations. They give you very tasty appetiser while you wait, papadi chaat and pakora, crisp and tasty. The good was good and even to our very discerning... More

This is the best food I have ever tasted! You MUST go to this restaurant. My favourite was the eggplant dish. Vikram Vij was there to greet us at the door which was a very pleasant surprise! The whole Vij's experience was one of the best evenings I have ever had in my life and that is no exaggeration!

What can I say...it was worth every minute of the wait. The mutton (goat) and lamb dishes were the best I have had so far. Unique take on pork belly - delicious! Kababs were mouth watering. The best Jackfruit dish (with bitter gourd), was the best such dish outside of India. Excellent wine pairing menu, and on-the-house appetizers like pakoras... More

From the moment the door opens and the aromas waft into the entry way, the welcoming staff and the enticing bites offered before we ordered with our glass of wine. This is a must experience in Vancouver. The blending of spices, traditionally as well as western influences, techniques and slow cooking methods make these incredible dishes dance in your mouth... Visiting Vij's is the first thing I do when I get off the plane in Vancouver. I buy extra portions to take home with me and I visualize when I can return. I've started to think of it as Vij-ualizing my return. It's richly delicious and you are welcomed from the second you enter the door. It may take awhile... More

I've heard good word of mouth about Vig's for awhile now and decided to get a group of friends together and try it out. There is always a lineup to get in so try and get there early; but in saying that we had six people in our party and were seated pretty much right away. The service was quick,... More

The restaurant is very popular and consequently you can expect a wait, often lined up out the door. Tip: If you don't mind take-out, to the right of the cash desk is a cooler filled with a variety of their cuisine, We enjoy the curried chicken on basmati rice as well as the vegetable samosas. Note: The samosas can vary... More

This is truly fantastic Indian cuisine that has unique touches. That said, there can be long lineups on summer weekends. Vancouver has no shortage of excellent restaurants so if the line is long take a walk in the lovely shopping district of south Granville and you'll be sure to find another jewel.
