Overrated, enormous portions of suger

Huge slice of okay chocolate cake, but nothing special. Very sweet, very fat, very much, but no way worth the $9... their coffee is acceptable, but not really good.

We saw this desert restaurant while walking around and decided to come back later in the evening for desert. It wasn’t that busy when we first saw it (around 5pm maybe?) but when we were back around 10pm it was almost full. We split two slices. One was a featured special – the sticky toffee pudding a la mode, and... More

A great place to meet a friend for a chat and something sweet. The strawberry shortcake is a favorite during the summer. Tends to get crowded mid evening.

Convenient locations and decent slices by size but not the best quality. Definitely won't find this subpar quality in Europe. Can get very busy and I like the fact they're open late... but who can afford to eat 1000+ calories at night??? Their coffee is terrible too. People are friendly though. Their most famous cake would be Devils food cake.

I am a HUGE cake fan and have tried many different types in my life. I was excited to try cakes from here because their choices were rampant and the presentation was fabulous. However, I was disappointed from the chocolate cake slice I ordered. It could have been a lot more rich and flavourful. Perhaps I should have ordered a... More

I started going here about 15 years ago when my brother got his wedding cake from here. I started to take people here whenever we were dt. At this time the price was a bit cheaper and the portions were HUGE. Fastforward 15 years and the prices have risen and the slices have shrunk. I still think they have some... More

Even though I read some not so hot TripAdvisor reviews on the place, I wanted to give it a try mainly because it was close to home. Unfortunately, the reviews were right on the money. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so awkward and not welcoming at all. There were a total of two tables in the entire place, which... More

Cheese is good, coffee is good, seat is comfortable, and the waitress looks like friendly and nice superficially.

The place was empty when we entered but quickly filled up. We ordered a coconut cake. It was smaller than expected but delicious - layers of light fluffy sponge smothered in coconut custard and covered with vanilla icing and toasted coconut flakes. It was creamy but not overly sweet.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
