very tasty

We had a great, relaxing dinner. The food was great and the service was friendly and fast. I really liked the crab dish. I would definitely go back.

We went late afternoon after a day of shopping. The food was delicious, especially the bread, just like back in Kuala Lumpur!! They had a great sea food selection as well.

Although we live in the area, this was our first visit to the restaurant. As Vancouverites we are accustomed to eating ethnic food on a regular basis and I have always been a big fan of both Thai and Malaysian food. But this has to be the worst Thai and worse Malaysian I've ever had. Service was very nice though.

I've been to this restaurant several times and have enjoyed the food. Service has always been good and the food has been a hit most times. There's a wide selection to choose from and I would recommend the beef and broccoli and the coconut rice. The red curries are very spicy, the roti is amazing and the chicken soup is... More

We visited this restaurant two years ago when in Vancouver, Canada and it is just as excellent as before - in fact, if anthing, it is better. We met friends there that we had not seen for a year and therefore had a lot of catching up to do and so were a bit tardy on ordering but this was... More

My family and I visited Tropkia recently and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service is great. The food was delicious! Freshly prepared and authentic tasting. We have been to Malaysia so we are critics ;-) I recommend the Satay (any as they are all good!), the Tropika home style chicken and the pineapple fried rice

The price was mild, but other than that, I really liked the pad-thai. Everything that we ordered was also really good (curry, kabobs, etc.) The servers were mostly chinese, and their service was great/average. Wait time was not that long. Atmosphere was great as well, a little dark. It's all pay-parking, though.

I have eaten at several of the Tropika restaurants and always had tasty dishes. There is a mixture of Indonesian, Malaysian Thai and some Chinese influence. Tonight had the pea tips in garlic which is a beautiful and tender vegetable this time of year. No bitterness like other greens. The sea bass with a dried red curry melted in your... More

We hadn't been to Tropika in a while and decided to revisit for a family dinner. Consensus around the table was that there was nothing particularly tasty and that compared to previous visits going back a year or so, the quality had fallen off noticeably. The roti canai was still good but current iterations of the stir-fried radish cake and... More

I've been going to Tropika for more than a decade now. I love the location on Cambie St. but have also eaten on Robson. My favourite dishes are the Beef Rendang, KL Crab, Sambal Prawns, Eggplant, Green beans, and Coconut seafood rice. I love the flavours here. They don't shy away from fish sauce and fermented shrimp paste and all... More

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighborhood Profile
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
