It was just ok, not worth the money

We had gotten the 5 course meal for $80/ person. There was only a couple courses I liked the rest was kind of bland, and the portions were so small I was still hungry after. I went home and ate a sandwich. Definitely not worth $80

It's easy to sing Tojos praises especially when the sushi is so varied, fresh and consistently great. I have had many memorable meals here over the years. The best ones happened when we left the ordering up to Tojo himself. I can be crazy expensive but honestly well worth it. Nough said!

Definitely had a communication malfunction with the waitress. We ordered the Tojo’s TunaChef’s Signature Dish – Tuna sashimi withspecial sesame and wasabi sauce 4/5. The Golden Roll Crab, scallop, wild Pacific salmon, and sweet shrimp rolled in an egg crepe with fish roe on top was AMAZING! 5/5. Lychee Orchid with Lychee liqueur, blue curaçao, sour raspberry and cranberry juice... More

My husband and I had seen an article that Tojo's was one of the best restaurant's in Vancouver. When we looked at the reviews on Yelp however, the reviews were spotty. We decided to go for it anyway. I have to say we had a really great meal. We sat at the Sushi bar which is strictly Omakase and it... More

The food was amazing. We tried multiple sushi dishes and also did the 5 course meal. Everything was amazing! The staff was friendly and efficient and the price was appropriate.

The food is exquisite, the staff difficult or impossible to understand BUT they are very pleasant and very helpful. Be forewarned, prices are VERY high, and there may be minimums depending on which part of the restaurant you are dining in. Don't be afraid to ask beforehand.

as a special treat for my wife's birthday, we excitedly went to Tojos. Interesting place, big open space with several booths on one side, seating in the middle & then a bar area where Tojo himself works. Turns out to sit at the bar with Tojo you have to pay a minimum of $255 per person. We were seated at... More

Tojo's was an institution in the Vancouver restaurant scene for decades but I must say there were more wrong things than right when we visited. The space was sterile and cold, the lighting was harsh even blinding, the ceiling too high - it was like eating in a super-bright huge warehouse. We were seated at a table in the corner... More

We had most excellent sushi here, everything seemed so fresh. The interiors of the restaurant was also very nice. The service was excellent. They serve Genmaicha green tea (spelling?) which is the first I has ever had it. Luckily, just up the street is a lovely tea boutique where I could buy a bag to take home. If you like... More

We ordered the 5 course Omakase menu. There were 3 of us so we sat in a booth, otherwise it probably would have been nicer to sit at the bar as clearly Tojo and his staff were very interactive with patrons. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. We had three different servers throughout the evening and the... More
