This place is worth visiting if you're curious about one of vancouver's landmark restaurants but the food is overpriced and the atmosphere hampered somewhat by a restaurant filled with business dinners. It's better to stay downtown and eat from one of the many Japanese restaurants there

We have been dining at Tojo's for 15 years and it never fails to exceed our expectations. We sometimes try other restaurants around the world but we always come to the same conclusion - Tojo's is the BEST!! The Omakase is amazing and always surprising in the best way. It is definitely pricey to dine at Tojo's but we have... More

Great environment, but for the hype I expected more. Our local Sushi restaurant makes Sushi pretty much as good for 1/8 the price!

Going to Tojo's is a total Japanese culinary experience. Be prepared to pay $85.00 per person for the Omasake (prix fixe) 5 course dinner. Sake is extra, but it's an experience of a lifetime and food presentation is sheet artistry ( lotus flowers, radishes made into candle holders). Tojo could do a food exhibit at the Art Gallery! Make reservations... More

In Vancouver for a birthday weekend so I reviewed places for sushi. The reviews for Tojo's were generally positive, but I found people either loved it or were disappointed. Let me say that my wife and I LOVED it. We ordered from the menu and got a sampling of what they had to offer. Our favorite was Tojo's tuna. The... More

We lived in Japan for two years. Best food we've had outside of there. Ate at the bar, the set menu didn't have much sushi but every bite was delectable.

We went to this restaurant for a special occasion and got talked into taking the tasting menu for $80 per person. We had been once before and done it and it was fantastic. On this occasion though it was a different story. The service was very good but the food was average and the servings very small. The last dish... More

You sit and eat as long and eat much as you can, if you go for the Omasake, and that’s what this place is famous for (Omakase = "I'll leave it to you, chef!”). Great to see your food getting prepared, step by step. It’s not cheap at all, depending on the amount of courses you eat, but it is... More

This place has been around for a while and has received many awards, not surprised. Excellent service, food and ambiance. We really enjoyed the menu, a lovely range of high quality and stunning tasting dishes. It might not be a new trendy place, but I highly recommend it.
