A colleague suggested we travel from Surrey to Vancouver and go to The. Sandbar, it was a bit of a hike about 45 minutes but well worth it. The views are great, but the food and service were simply excellent! And the company was great as well. Absolutely one of the best seafood restaurant's I have dined in.

Right at the end of our stay we were pleased to follow a recommendation and try the Sandbar for fresh fish. The sushi was excellent, and then we enjoyed three of the days' specials. The only downside was that we had to rush away to catch the last Aquabus back, and had to nag the waitress for our desserts in... More

My friend and I were in Vancouver on business and stopped by Granville Island. We had no idea where to go and found our way here. Loved the outside patio with heated lamps and blankets. Even on a blustery day it was lovely! The food and service were delicious too - we ate only appetizers - fried oysters, ribs, fish... More

We have been twice to this restaurant and both times have been excellent. The staff are upbeat and accommodating. The first time we went with another couple and my girlfriend had a hypoglycaemic episode, and the staff moved quickly to get her orange juice and followed up with concern until they were satisfied that she was okay. We sat with... More

Enjoyed a birthday dinner with family recently. Just a few minuted walk form the Granville Island Hotel, where we were staying...Saturday evening, so it was busy, but staff were more than up to the challenge. Food was delicious, and our table - outside by the fireplace - was perfect... Always enjoy our Sandbar experiences!

We have been 5 different times. I have never come away saying I want to go back. The selection of fish is excellent and the service is usually top notch. This last visit was the usual OK service but the food service was off and i have warn everyone about the sushi. We live in the sushi capital of the... More

Stopped in for dinner today, right away the inside and decor really jumped out. Very nautical and boatlike construction. Had dinner at the bar and ordered the salmon burger. This was the first time I had ever ordered a salmon burger and I was very much surprised. I'm not usually a salmon fan but this burger was cajun spiced and... More

I loved this place, I used to go for special occasions like my birthday and my husband's or our anniversary, but the food quality change and the portions were ridiculously smaller, so we stopped going. 3 years ago this was "The restaurant" to try in Vancouver.

Perfection cannot be quantified. That’s why it is ... Perfection! Unfortunately, nothing is perfect - but on the sunny March day we visited Vancouver’s Sandbar Seafood Restaurant - perfection seemed pretty darned close. There are “better” restaurants, of course - the atmosphere more au courant, the wine cellar more extensive, the service more attentive. For those, you pay par le... More

Came here for a nice romantic dinner with my boyfriend. Our server was nice and friendly at first and answered all our questions. But it was too much of a sell which got annoying. We asked for a glass of water and he got us a $5.00 bottle of water (which we did not want), than tried to sell us... More
