Great Caribbean jerk

Casual dining with patio access. Young friendly servers with good product knowledge. I followed my server's recommendation and had the plantain chips as a starter, Dominica beef as a main and fried banana to finish. All were spicy and delicious. My daughter had jerked poutine, an island twist on a... read more

The Reef was a great find for me and my family. We were traveling with our young daughter and found ourselves tired and hungry when we happened upon this welcoming-looking restaurant, which seemed a little more laid-back and "family-friendly" than other restos in this area of Main. I cannot speak to the "authenticity" of the cuisine; all I can tell... More

The first time I visited the Reef I was a bit put off by the signage and menus - I thought it looked a bit naff and wouldn't be good food. I was very wrong. It's excellent authentic Jamaican food (as far as I know, having never been to Jamaica). I love the jerk pork, and the house-made hot sauce... More

Rum cocktails were amazing. The food was very special and authentic. We had the nicest server ever. The music (live DJ) could be more quiet , we could hardly hear each other

We loved the plantain fries and the chicken quesadillas. Our son brought us to this homey restaurant during our visit to Vancouver. We were not disappointed.

THOSE CHICKEN SKEWERS! omg YES!!!!! tender and perfectly cooked (I'm anal about chicken not being cooked properly lol) Their plantain chips with the jerk mayo was so tasty! Get the prawns with avocado aioli, not too much breading so you actually get to enjoy the prawns. The sweet johnny cakes remind me of summer and the mini donuts at the... More

Now let me start off by saying that there's nothing terribly wrong about The Reef, the server was friendly and the food was decent, but for the price I was expecting a bigger serving and it to be a little better than it was.

Came for drinks with friends. Had a rum & eggnog it was great. Also ordered a plantain chips appetizer which was also good. What I liked the most was these ball things, not sure what they're called, but man they're good (especially the coconut butter that comes with). Had fun and the service was great!

For our tasting, we were given some deep fried dough as appies followed by a tasting platter with plantain chips, chana (chickpea) salad, jerk wings, and a Jamaican beef samosa. My visit to theother Reef location went pretty well, but this one really hit the spot. The deep fried dough was soft and fluffy, the plantain chips were nice and crisp (great with jerk mayo sauce),... More
