One of Vancouver's best venues

The breakfasts are among the citie's best with very large portions and eggs are poached to perfection. This venue has a long, outrageous history with an in your face vibe where you might very possibly be greeted with a friendly "How are you girls doing?". I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a cafe, the tables are close together but I was amazed at the quality of the food. My brunch was the typical bacon and eggs with the poached eggs done to perfection (medium). Patrons for the most part are friendly and not loud

Great Breakfast and lot's of food. Everyone in my party enjoyed the coffee and their breakfast. The portions are good and the food is fresh. Get there before 9:30am so you don't have to wait long. Be prepared to here a bit of abusive language which is part of the atmosphere. tons of fun.

It is good to try to be in this coffee. The service is different. The food is tasty. I have tried the pancake 6 inches. It is suitable for three people. I will definitely come back.

The food is great. I would rather enjoy it without the sarcastic comments by the staff. Second cup of cofee is free but you have to fetch it yourself.

We were a little nervous not knowing what to expect, but found the jokes funny without being too cruel or off-putting. Our server made fun of my "date" for not paying for my breakfast, and made comments about how men don't know how to treat ladies anymore - light hearted but I enjoyed a laugh at his expense. We were... More

A visit to this place is certainly a must. An icon of Davies Street, the proprietors live up to their reputation. The food was very good , even if the order was a little haphazard A very enjoyable experience. Not recommended to conservative parents or children of those parents. Everyone else will enjoy it.

Fun place to have breakfast. Known for the sarcastic owners and fun menu! You're packed in like sardines but in the eyes of the owner calls everyone girls, and I do mean everyone! Be prepared to get reprimanded if you don't clean your plate!

The concept of this restaurant is unique- however the prices are steep for the quality of the food. The eggs benedict came out cold and was replaced but didn't have any sauce- hollandaise or other. The hash browns were teeny tiny cubes of potato- not crispy or anything. The owner was friendly but talked to us throughout our whole meal,... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
