Good food and laughs

Come here with an open mind, if you're easily insulted then it's probably not the best place to visit. The menu has lots of options and the portion sizes are huge! Good fun

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast.Much more than a coffee shop. They have 30+ omelettes and the usual breakfast fare. The place is a bit of an institution with the entertainment crowd. The walls are lined with autographed pictures of many actors/actresses. But be prepared for some verbal abuse. Like the sign says...the first coffee is served... More

Our breakfast visit to The Elbow Room was unplanned and un-researched so we were not aware of its claim to fame as a cafe with an "alternative atmosphere of friendly insulting banter." Even if we had known, we could never have imagined that the air of the tiny cafe would be peppered with F bombs comments with definite sexual innuendo,... More

We were told that if we ever visit Vancouver, The Elbow Room is a must! We had the "James Farrentino" and the "lumberjack". Definitely not disappointed. The food and presentation was delicious! The service was great and the server was very humorous! If you haven't been, check this place out!

Enter the Elbow Room with an open mind, a warm heart and a willingness to laugh at yourself. Oh yes, and a hearty appetite. The food is thoughtfully prepared and the caring nature of the staff and owners shines through their humorously cheeky service. Enjoy!

Great idea for a place in vancouver, but needs to play it's part a bit more. Not very rude, well depends on which server you get. I'm not complaining about this, but don't expect anything crazy, but more something like "well if you want your own water you know where it is". Some people love the food, but it didn't... More

I love the menu. Plenty of choice and great combinations, particularly impressed with the various Benedict options. I opted for the Christopher, it was delicious. My wife had the Brett Cullen with blue cheese, even better. The home fries were okay, believe the yet are prepared from frozen but donee well. Service was good but we were there early before... The ambiance would be better without the waiter. I know the place prides itself on being alternative but I didn't want to hear our waiter saying F*** this, F*** that, F*** B**** loudly during breakfast, just so we could hear, and go, "WOW, what a cool place...". I get there is a certain vibe they are trying to create. Just... More

I love this place for so many reasons, the first of which are the owners. The next reason is the food which is excellent diner fare always served quickly and with the smart wit and repartee of the owners. I have never laughed so much when eating at a restaurant. Keep up the good work !!

Our hotel suggested this place for breakfast and we were so glad they did. The service was great and the owners and staff were lots of fun. You better eat all of your breakfast or they will make you make a donation. Have returned every trip we make to Vancouver.
