That was my dining companion's assessment. Hard to disagree. 'Dine Out Vancouver' menu - but no stinting on the portions or the quality. Dining room is upstairs - views from window seats are superb. Wait staff were more mature than the usual Vancouver servers - which was a change. Food - excellent - Miso Halibut was tasty and a good... More

The 3 of us went for dinner mid-week and got a table by the window right away. The service was very good and the choices on the menu were plentiful. We started with calamari and shared. For main courses we all ordered fish...Miso Halibut, Blackened Steelhead and Wild Sockeye Salmon. Hard to pick the winner, they were all just amazing!... More

We had made reservations and arrived a few minutes early. We were greeted promptly but the staff seemed very disorganized. Also, the facility seemed "long in the tooth" and needs attention. We were seated 10 minutes later but then had to wait upstairs a minute while the table was cleared. The food was just OK overall. We had the special... More

Visiting the English Bay area we passed two "named" restaurants and an English pub all of which were crowded. We then spotted The Boathouse and went in. One person sat at table in the centre of the room, but no-one else was to be found. After a few minutes a hostess appeared and asked if we wanted to eat upstairs.... More

We were staying around the corner at the BW + Sands, and it was late. A short walk brought us to The Boathouse. We did not have reservations, but late and on a Tuesday, no problem. We sat in the downstairs Bar area and had a fine view of the street and the street traffic walking by. It was too... More

There are not too many restaurants in Horseshoe Bay and we went to the Boathouse after having standing on the dock watching the sunset. We did not have a reservation and it took 45 minutes to get a table. But, considering that we had not reserved, we were given a very nice waterfront table. The food was delicious and the... More

Attentive service with great views of English Bay. All staff were very friendly and helped to make the dinner flow nicely. Seafood, steaks and delicious salads make up the varied menu choices. 2 levels, bar & seating downstairs and then upstairs large dining room with large picture windows looking onto the Bay. Romantic but fine for families too.

I've eaten here many times during stopovers between Toronto and Australia and love it - friendly staff, excellent fish, local beer and wine, amazing sunsets, welcoming fireplace in winter, tables well spaced... all good!
