Fun Meal First Visit to Vancouver

We found this place walking around our first night in Vancouver. The Salmon Burger and Chicken Burger with side salads were incredibly yummy. The sangria and beer flights were great. Fun first meal in high energy, noisy place.

Steamworks is very well known, and was crowded as expected. It has lots of seats and most of them were filled. The inside seats were very attractive and the views out the Harbor over the trains were quite good. The beer on draft, changing constantly, was a bit surprisingly weak; the only Ale type was a IPA and all the... More

Right at waterfront and walking distance from Canada Place. Pretty big place for a bar. Also looks very fancy inside. Tried 3 of their beers. They were all good. But I was not too impressed with the food. But then, I had only a Quinoa burger. It was too bland and dry for my taste. Salad was just fine.

We stopped here for dinner. The service was great, food terrific. Beer or wines. I had halibut and my husband had a burger. We were visiting from Pittsburgh, PA.

If you like a bustling place where you don't really want to hold a conversation, but like the action around you then this is the place to go. They definitely have many interesting beer choices. Though it's so large you may actually find a little quiet nook, The food isn't that great however, only average. Service as somewhat slow and... More

We stayed here during our Vancouver visit and enjoyed most the chill-out flair with the Canada Place in the background. The desserts are delicious, the main course was ok.

This bar is a must for beer lovers. I sampled the pale ale, IPA, lager and pilsner and all were good, with the pale ale the highlight. The food is also good and helps soak up that inevitable third pint. All of this is served with typical BC hospitality - very friendly and attentive service.

My only regret is that I couldn't go back to try more things at Steamworks. I had a great salad and beer, but part of me wishes I could go back and try some of the more traditional pub foods. I would obviously go back.

What a surprising place-- great beer made on sight, and, incredibly well prepared salads and sandwiches, all in all, not what you would expect from a brewery. Only drawback is the outdoor seating overlooking a parking lot and facing shipping containers...but after a few beers with good company, you won't notice. The staff is smart, attentive, and welcoming_ one of... More

We stumbled upon this pub on our way back to our hotel and ended up having lunch there and going back again the next day. We ate outside so we could witness the comings and goings in Gastown. Service was swift and friendly . The portions were huge and a step up from typical bar food. I tried the fish... More
