Perfect for a ladies' lunch

If you're not in the mood for a hole-in-the-wall hip bistro with deafening music and servers with toques and attitudes, try this classic and relatively quiet spot on the grounds of VanDusen Botanical Garden. The setting is charming and the food is prepared and presented with care. Weekend brunch... read more

My current favourite restaurant for lunch or brunch. Always dependable! Service is good but sometimes they could be a little more attentative...refresh water, fresh ground pepper and additional coffee. Other than that the service is friendly and prompt. I haven't had a bad meal there. It is good value, a good selection and very tasty. It is a older crowd... More

Came here for lunch the other day just before visiting the gardens, wasn't impressed much by what we had. Nice looking restaurant but I found the staff to be standoff-ish and our waiter wasn't particularly friendly. He only interacted with us simply to take our order. The meal itself was also just average, nothing great. Our table got the chicken... More

We meet regularly here for lunch and have always had excellent food and service - reservations are recommended. The only downside is that if you are gluten free, you are limited to having a salad as no other choices are really available. However, I always enjoy the chicken, mango, jicama salad as an excellent choice. Others in our party say... More

I had the free range chicken breast which was great, the service was spot on and the view of the lights were wonderful. Great holiday venue.

Went with 7 friends after a beautiful walk through Festival of Lights (which were worth it). Waited 15 min before finally asking if we could get drinks, then had to ask for bread (we got 7 tiny rolls for group of 8), kale salad was delish all other dishes small but OK, 2 were only lukewarm, Americano barely warm, &... After a very enjoyable evening viewing the Christmas lights of Van Dusen gardens, we went to the Shaughnessy restaurant for supper. It was very busy so having reservations was a good idea. We were seated right away and had very good service. Our meals were brought in short order and were hot and very good. The quality of the food... More

This food in this restaurant is consistently good. It is a good location to meet friends for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is located on the edge of the beautiful Van Dusen Gardens, where there is always something in bloom throughout the year.

We got a sneak peak of the Festival of Lights 2014 and decided to check out Shaughnessy Restaurant - adjacent to the gardens. With their "greenhouse" like windows, the restaurant has a beautiful view particularly at night during the Festival of Lights. It was a magical Christmas feeling. We were too late to enjoy the food menu - however, the... More

When we arrived we were seated immediately and given 2 menus and on the top was the name of one of us who was having a birthday dinner that night. Our drinks arrived immediately and they were perfect. The wait staff are just great and we always get such great service from them all. A very special place to eat.
