The Provence is an interesting place -- the menu is quite intriguing and making a final decision is a challenge. The setting is nice and the facilities well developed. The only downside was the rather aloof server, who took the edge off the experience by acting more than a little haughty. Service... read more

I like the weekend brunch, nice quality of eggs. For dinner, you have to know what you really order. A little bit salty for some dishes, but it is even saltier in some parts of Med. such as Hyres, Toulon etc.

For a while, this great restaurant seemed to have lost a little of its magic. Not tonight. The Monthly Special was superb, the wine was a perfect match and the service was flawless. Of course, I came in really early for dinner, so I had it almost to myself; but by the time I finished it was booked solid for... More

I've been wanting to dine at Provence for a couple of years, but because it is located outside of my usual dining area, it took me a while to finally make it there. After having a lunch meeting there today, I'm kicking myself for taking so long to experience the excellent cuisine Provence offers. In a neighbourhood where most restaurants... More

All four of us ordered the three-course prix fixe, which at $45 is a great deal. I had the lobster with pasta as my main and loved it. The panna cotta dessert was also excellent. The space is very pleasant, and the service very good. Highly recommended.

Good dining experiences are sometimes not confirmed on a repeat visit, but the opposite also applies. My reluctance to come back here after a poor experience of some two years ago appeared to be unjustified. Coming here with four people we tried the special tomato-based dinner menu and a number of other dishes. The trio of starters with a piece... More

We knew nothing about this gem but were drawn in by the lovely flowers outside. Stepping in the door we discovered subtly chic décor and a vibrant welcome by Julian who would be our capable and enigmatic server. We instantly liked the 2 course lunch offering with ample appetizing choices. With that said my partner ordered the Mid size Calamari... More

Have had many meals here over the years and they offer consistently great, fresh food. Was just here for lunch with 2 others and we all ordered different dishes. Their Tapas plates are all good, favourites, the artichokes, grilled calamari, pizzeretta with carmelized onions, on this visit but have tried all of them at various times and they are all... More

Staying in West Point Grey

Neighborhood Profile
West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
