Almost worth the hype

Having queued for 30 mins or so, we had high expectations, which were mostly met. Our waiter barely spoke English so it was tricky to really understand everything, so we over-ordered but the food was delicious. The butter beef, the chicken wings and the calamari were all fabulous.

I get cravings for this and as far as I know this is the only place in the city to get it. Unfortunately the line ups deter me from getting it. Sometimes they can be an hour long! I love the food but not that much.

Phnom Penh was on my list of Must Try restaurants for my annual visit to Vancouver last year (July 2014). to visit family and friends. We almost backed off after seeing the line of diners waiting to be seated..But then again, there must be something really worth waiting for inside this busy, unpretentious Asian resto. So wait we did, for... More

I've been here before but hadn't had the butter beef. The beef luc lac however was something that I was definitely going to come back for. I wasn't as impressed by their noodles or chicken wings as most reviewers. Ordering beef x 2 seemed excessive but luckily there was a line up so I decided to order take out and... More

Must have's - butter beef and garlic butter wings! The flavour is exquisite and there is no comparison to this place! At work, when we have a big meeting, we always order from Phnom Penh, food is prepared quickly and I have not had a bad experience yet. The taste is consistent so you can always rely on it!

We had to wait 25 minutes for a table and were able to register and then wander through nearby Chinatown shops where we bought some fabulous fresh mackerel. When we came back we were ushered to our seats and had a fabulous dining experience!

Waited too long for a table. Finding a parking space can be a challenge, as well. So be patient, you will need it if you want to try this place. The food is fresh, priced right. Atmosphere is avg. It's a busy place even at 4.30 on a weekend. We usually order noodles and chicken with rice.

We received a recommendation to go here after stopping in at a bakery the next street over. The person who recommended the restaurant suggested we order the chicken wings. Once we arrived we had to wait about 5-10 minutes (it was early evening NYE) and read some of the extensive restaurant reviews. These reviews repeatedly mentioned the lemongrass chicken and... More

The good: Service (for an Asian joint) & chicken wings. The not so good: Dang parking! LucLuc beef came cold. Noodle and Soup (#A I think) came in too salty! Special fried rice was more like carrots and chinese sausage. Fried rolls came out soggy. About the wings: They are good (garlic with a bit of sweetness) when dip with... More

I've been coming to the restaurant for years and it never failed to impress me. Butter beef and chicken wings are certainly great, especially the pepper lime dipping sauce for the wings. My other go to items are the squid balls with seaweed (you can taste chunks of squids), the beef rice with fried egg as well as the lychee... More
