Overpiced mediocre food

My friend raved about Nick's so we went one night with my son. Clearly, the opinions can be divided. They serve old-fashion style spaghetti on checkered tablecloths. The portions are huge and you are expected to take home what you don't finish. We had the spaghetti with meatballs and ribs, the... read more

I remember growing up in this restaurant. The gnocchi is to die for and cheesecake as well. The decor is the same as when I was young but this is exactly what makes this place special. The love is in their food. The tomato and onion salad to start👏

I had not been to Nicks in twenty years. On the spur of the moment we (just two of us) decided to go so we called first and was told "no wait". We got there 10 mins later and there was a huge lineup. We waited 45 mins to be seated. During that time we watched as at least 20... More

Many say Nick's is too expensive, a dive, lost it's luster over the years, blah blah blah. I have been going to Nick's since 1968 and over the years continue to a) go back, and b) order the spaghetti and meatballs. Expensive, no, not really when you consider it a feat to eat half your plate, so you take half... More

Recommended to us by some friends - place didn't disappoint. HUGE portions of delicious lasagna and clams fettucini. Very old school and down to earth. Will revisit :)

Nick's didn't last for 60 years without a good reason: they serve tasty food, family classics, in a no frills setting with friendly service. The dishes are richly flavoured and come in very generous proportions. They also serve some dishes in "smaller" portion sizes - and these are still very generous meals. Unless you have hollow legs, I would recommend... More

After reading all the great reviews, we were looking forward to a great Italian meal. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Although the service was excellent, our meals were nothing special. My partner's spaghetti and meat balls was fairly tasteless and watery. My lasagna was okay but I've had better. And the Italian house red wine was completely lacking in... More

It's not trendy or upscale, but the food has been consistently good for as long as I remember. Comfort Italian food. Their house salad, meatballs, steaks are excellent. Will always be returning.

Big portions of average spaghetti and meat. Large salads my favourite is the great tomato salad. Steak and spaghetti is huge. Service is fast and prices are more than reasonable.

I used to hang around Nick's Spaghetti House all the time, especially when I was working at the nearby York theatre (in the days when it was an amateur theatre), but I hadn't been there for years. A group of ten of us recently went there for a family party, and all the old memories came back. I remember it... More
