Blast from the Past

I just moved into the hood and needed a pasta fix. Nick's delivered, though I was really amazed it took 45 minutes to cook lasagna. Hanging out in here it could well be 1967 and just got done my shift on the docks. All in all, I'd go again though recommend it only for those nostalgic for BC's... read more

I have been going to Nick's for about 40 years, and it is still the ultimate spaghetti restaurant for me. The food is simple and flavourful. My usual is the spaghetti and meatballs, but sometimes, I'll have the cannelloni. My husband loves the T-bone steak- says it's the best he's had!

I have been eating at Nick's off and on for over 10 years. Always great food, wonderful flavorful Italian. Family atmosphere, always lots to being home, even with the smaller portion.

Nick's meat lasagna is amazing. Every bite of the very large portion was delicious. Too much food to eat and had to take the rest home and it was just as amazing when warmed up. Their dinner salad was massive so we had one and shared it. The rolls they serve prior to dinner are warm and wonderful. The dessert... More

We laugh at the negative reviews that come in for this place - come people just love to complain. The fact remains that Nick's continues to do it right and nothing has really changed since they started. Waitresses have been there forever and are like family. The meatballs are fantastic and it is the best lasagna anywhere. Ribs are cooked... More

First time at Nicks for both of us. Not impressed with the area, or the entrance .. furniture is also well past it's due date. BUT .. the food is as good as you can get. Our server explained the meals and was VERY knowledgeable only adding to our dining experience. I was well pleased with my baked lasagna and... More

This used to be a semi regular go to place for us over 20 years ago. We were always very satisfied with the food. Recently I was back in the area and thought it was long overdue for a visit. As other reviews have mentioned, the decor is dated . I doubt anything has changed in that respect. We have... More

This small Italian family run restaurant has been around for over 40 years, mainly with a good reputation for its authentic home made dishes at reasonable prices. The last time I enjoyed a meal here was the late 1970's due to not being in the area during meal times. Attending a Friday evening performance at the York Theatre on Commercial... More

People need their heads examined for going here. Waitress acts like she's too busy to deal with you, when the place is practically empty. Her better-than-thou attitude alone deserves walking out. $15.00 minimum for pizza-joint quality entrees. Pasta soggy and dripping with water they were too busy (three customers total) to strain, sauce flavourless, as in from a can. Crazy... More

Whenever I am in the area I will visit Nicks (since 1979) and enjoy the pork chops with spaghetti. The chop is very large and thick and cooked perfectly. Spaghettis are to the best of my knowledge homemade and are cooked the way only Italians can do. Service very friendly and professional. One can say this place has not changed... More
