We decided to go to lunch there on a Sunday afternoon. It was still very busy at 1:30 in the afternoon so we sat at the bar and ordered off of the brunch menu. "Elvis" our bartender was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend the lobster benedict. They brought me a regular eggs benedict by mistake and the manager jumped... More

Kept forgetting to review our last experience here. Everything was on point especially service from Mike D. His style is very laid back and great attention to us. We ordered oysters to start and had the seafood platter for 2. Best platter ever...bussers would come out to setup the platform for the platter at the table and Mike D came... More

Joe Fortes is one of my favourite restaurants and favourite West coast seafood place. The service is always excellent, and the food is consistently the best. No matter if I go for lunch, happy hour or dinner, the experience is wonderful, and it totally deserves all the awards and recognition on the walls. All the food is good, but my... More

My wife and I treated a friend here and we splurged a bit on a Saturday night. We had a half dozen expensive oysters, entrees, two rounds of drink and desert. With a tip it was about $250 Canadian, but we were pleased with the quality of the seafood and the wonderful service. Try to get seated on the mezzanine... More

On our first evening in Vancouver, we wandered down Robson Street looking for a restaurant and spotted Joe Forte’s in a side-street. The sign said chop-house and seafood restaurant, and since we like both, we went in. The place was packed, yet they were able to find a nice table for us without a reservation but told us we needed... More

We had an excellent dinner of Arctic Char, lobster and oysters, supplemented by excellent service that was tailored to our pace. Sure, there are cheaper seafood dinners in Vancouver, but the ambiance of a beautiful interior, relaxing piano music makes Joe's special. We had a perfect table overlooking the entire restaurant.

You can get a nice seafood dinner for less money almost anywhere. Furthermore, you won't be treated like you are lucky just for being allowed to set foot in the door. What a pretentious establishment! I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome last time I was there. Never again!

The staff was friendly and tended to our every needs during the happy hour. All of the food that we had was excellent, e.g., the lobster spring rolls, prawn tempura, truffle fries, and ceviche. The portions were surprisingly ample and the costs was very reasonable for happy hour. Definitely a keeper for our future visits.

We have been many times and love it. The tuna is excellent and so is the sablefish. The tomato and Mozzarella is amazing. Check out the photo . Service is good. Atmosphere and people-watching is excellent.

I went there with my partner, her 5 year old daughter, and another couple. This place has the ambience you would expect from a high-end restaurant. The service was superb, the wine list was unbelievable, the food was fabulous. Of course, be prepared to drop a bundle if you're buying wine. Dinner plus 2 bottles, and I was lighter by... More
