It helps that the chef visits your table and sends you some samples to let you appreciate his very good reasons of pride. It creates a feeling of being special and who does not like that? Great salads to start with - best organic tomatoes west of Naples!- and the pastas - al dente to the point of wondering if... More

Our server perhaps was having a bad day. Perhaps she had had a fight with her husband or stubbed her toe on the way to work. Nonetheless, she knew little about the menu. She never told us the daily specials and we were unaware there even existed daily specials until we heard another server recite them to the table next... More

Wife and I went for our anniversary. There is a specific dish I order when I go out for Italian. It is not always on the menu but I ask if the chef can make it and it has never been a problem - carbonara - very simple. When I asked the waitress if I could get his she responded... More

I'm from Portland, Oregon which, for its size, consistently manages to find a current place on the culinary map. But Cioppino's is a level beyond anything in Portland. It has a big city, non-American feel that feels very good! Each of the 4 of us swear we chose the winner when ordering. My halibut infused gnocchi was unlike anything I've... More

A truly great restaurant, amazing food, great atmosphere and brillant staff. We had a great night and this would be somewhere we would go every week if we lived in Vancouver. A truly great dining experience.

having visited some of the best Italian restaurants (in Italy) i can only recommend Cioppino for its excellent cuisine. price is a bit prohibitive certainly for the wine list but food is really excellent. and as i read afterward on tripadvisor the chef with whom i engaged a conversation (wasn't successful...) has a misplaced arrogance that is second to none.... I love the Banana, chocolate and caramel, wrapped with phyllo pastry, served with banana ice-cream and Limoncello cheese-cake, citrus-vanilla confiture, aged Balsamico caramel, mascarpone-citrus sorbet

......the food is usually pretty good. When I go to a restaurant and pay top dollar for a meal I expect them to park their attitude at the door. The staff are (aside from Pino and his maitred's rudeness) generally good people. You also have to make sure that when you make a reservation that you are going to be... More

We had a delicious meal at Cioppino's. The food was seasoned delightfully and provided a mouth-watering combination of flavors. We dined early (~6pm) with our 10 month old son, and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. We dined on their lovely patio and enjoyed watching the fancy cars and beautiful people go by.
