At the former Medina Cafe location, the restaurant is a good choice also if you are alone. Sat at the bar and ordered a tripel belgian beer with the congolaise mussels to the recommendation of the waitress. Verdict: good match! Nothing to say against good, beer choice, ambiance and decor. If you are cold easily, consider bringing a shirt if... More

Very busy Tuesday brunch crowd - just after huge gathering down the street at Victory Square. Great service. Excellent venison burger. A little noisier than the old place, but just as terrific!

Went there on a Wednesday night for some beer and appies. They have a coat check - pretty fancy. Lounge tables, booths and dining tables. Cozy and at the same time chique design. Service attentive. Loud music didn't fit the ambiance. Cheese platter was okay, no bread though, just crackers (too oily in combination with cheese). Some of the condiments... More

I was at Chambar with a group of friends and I arrived early. The front desk very tactfully put me at the bar where I had very attentive service from the bartender. When the party arrived, we were seated and enjoyed some great appetizers and a range of seafood, including the excellent monkfish. I am still not ready to pay... More

First time at their new location, which is two floors, entering in on the very noisy main level, with the feel of a bar/lounge, and downstairs into the restaurant portion, with another lounge-y area. Chairs not overly comfortable, furnishings akin to an industrial loft. The restaurant was busy this night, so service suffered, it took some time to get our... More

Been here several times over the years, was always good. Recent experience at new location poor. Ordered drinks which didn't appear till food was at table. Venison good but rest of items on plate cold. Lamb shank excellent. Overall noisy, trendy and small tables which would serve two stuffed with four place settings. Price point too high.

Some good and some very poor offerings. Not as noisy as I was expecting, average noise actually but for the money (we spend $250 per couple) their are better restaurants in Vancouver. The location is very good for many venues, just eat light and non-exploratory and you will be fine.

Having spent so many happy times in hostelries in Belgium and Northern France and with moules frites one of my long established favourite foods, I was ready to be sharply critical of this downtown Vancouver establishment. Two of our party chose moules frites vin blanc and both of us were extremely happy with our choice. The mussels were plentiful, fat... More

I was asked to make a reservation and choose the restaurant tonight for my brother, his friend and myself. I chose Chambar because I love the the food there! I was so please when after we ate, they said how much they appreciated the choice I had made. The service, the food presentation, the timely manner in serving us, and... More

This is a gem in Vancouver. The flavours excited my palate from the cocktail list to dessert. Server walked us through the menu and provided excellent recommendations. Loved the casual and upbeat atmosphere.
