Good food, big portions

Service here was a little slow but the place was packed both times we ate here. We were lucky to get a walk-in table as there were only two of us, but I would suggest if there's more of you, then you book. The food itself was tasty and the portions were large. Not sure how authentic it is as... read more

Had the Laksa and Taohu Goreng. Laksa was a Spot on. Service was good and prompt. For 11CAD, the size was quite okay. Taohu Goreng could be crispier thou.

Food, service, atmosphere and price are the key factors in a good restaurant - this gets ticks on all. The $18 each 9 course tasting dinner is delicious and plentiful. The spice mix is the best this side of Singapore but maybe lack a little bit of heat if you've spent time in Asia and like a bit of chilli.... More

Great lunch location or dinner & drinks to catch up with friends. I've lived in Thailand, so my expectations are high for South Eastern places. Banana leaf has a great variety of foods (most dishes have some spice) as well as great cocktails. If you get a cocktail, consider going during happy hour (3-6PM & after 9 PM) to get... More

The food looks, smells and tastes authentic. The service is great and portion sizes are practically American! :-) They did not seem to skimp on size for Happy hour. Go during Happy Hour and order food to share. Staff was friendly and the customers all seemed so happy to be there. Line can be long during HH and Dinner times.

We visit Vancouver each summer and seek out one of the Banana Leaf restaurants almost every visit as we are never disappointed with the authentic, tasty food and attentive, efficient service. The Malaysian naan bread is AWESOME. We have been to every location depending where we happen to be and have never been disappointed.

I was wandering around the sit solo looking for a good place to eat when I came across Banana Leaf on Denman. What immediately caught my eye was the glass door covered with stickers for winning the city's "best of " numerous times, Tripadvisor excellence, etc. I mean the door was half covered of stickers. I glanced quickly at the... More

The food and atmosphere are amazing. Really recommend getting the appetizer with a bunch of variety of food just to taste test, and then order entrees. The food is so flavourful and you'll fall in love with every bite. I ordered the lettuce wraps... definitely the best I've ever had!! Definitely coming back!

Spice lovers have to get the Mee Goreng extra extra spicy.. Best noodle dish of my life!! The lychee mojitos are bomb and the roti with the mussels extra extra spicy is to die for. We also loved mango papaya seafood soup.
