Best Malaysian food I've had outside of south East Asia. Reasonable prices, wonderfully tastey food, great cocktails. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We found the Banana Leaf quite by accident -- we were parked on Denman St to rent bicycles and explore Stanley Park, and Banana Leaf was right across the street. We'd never had Malaysian food before, so were eager to try something new. My husband settled on the carmelized ginger basa, which was truly amazing. I had the Singapore Laksa,... More

We decided to go Malayan for our last evening in Vancouver. We were not disappointed........ The selection of starters including the usual satay sticks and the less usual calamari were delicious, and the fried roti was lovely! For mains I plumped for a Canadian flavour to my curry choosing the sockeye salmon in a beautiful coconut, tamarind and pineapple sauce, whilst... More

Inexpensive restaurant to have a flavor of Malayan cuisine and near Second Beach. The tasting menu they offer has a very convenient price and it is more than enough for enjoying the food.

We had made reservations and arrived a bit early. The staff were very prompt and got us seated right away. The meal was delicious. Two of shared the appetizer sampler and an order of Chicken Curry. It was happy hour so the sppetizer sampler was on for 50% off - great deal for $9.00 and along with the curry it... More

After a day walking round Vancouver this restaurant appealed to my wife, strange really as she is normally avoids anything that might be "too spicy". The waiter guided us expertly through the menu and after starting with a generous shared appetites our main meals arrived. These were equally delicious. A pleasant relaxing venue.

I liked the look of the menu and sat at a table outside. The hot and sour soup was very tasty, and i then had the sharing Appetiser as my main course. The satay with peanut sauce was very good, as were the spring rolls and calamari. I was not sure about the bread and dipping sauce, but they too... More

From the moment we walked in we were treated warmly and graciously. The restaurant is fairly small and fairly busy (a good sign!) but we were seated at a two-top right away. We ordered the Taster"a Menu so we didn't have to decide from the extensive main menu. Warning: this is a large amount of food and since it tastes... More

We have eaten at Banana Leaf on other trips to Vancouver, and it never fails to delight us. Always good food, good service and you can be guaranteed you will eat too much - just too difficult to stop. Thankfully - great area for walking it off!

We love Malaysian food and we were not disappointed. This restaurant had been recommend to us and we would recommend it to others. Friendly but unobtrusive service. I had cod in ginger and garlic sauce & my husband had lamb shank with cumin and star anise sauce - both delicious with a modern Malaysian slant
