How'd we get back to the 50's?

I blinked and was transported to a typical small diner joint of the fifties or sixties. Old, well used and pretty clean with lots of standard diner fare served up fresh and in this place, VERRY good! Never been disappointed in getting a quick, quality burger or their daily special.

What a surprise! I have lived in Vancouver for 30 years but never been here. From the outside it looks very unprepossessing. I have passed it many times on the bike route, thinking it was a burger and fries place. Not so. Formica tables and bench seats yes; but, friendly staff, quick service, great prices, fresh and beautifully made and... More

4 went for lunch at 11:30, got the last table. Popular spot for local business staff and no wonder! Very reasonable prices for decent diner fare. Been in the Ontario location for decades, so has staying power. Basic soup of the day in a small bowl was OK. Tried the chicken club and egg salad sandwich. Ample, tasty. Efficient service,... More

If you're a lover of old-style truck stops, you'll be in heaven here - plus the food is awesome and cheap. I had a wonderfully fresh spinach salad there the other day and the best pea soup I've ever had in a restaurant. The variety is great - from greasy spoon to Chinese to healthy Service is fast, real, friendly... More

This looks like a "hole in the wall" from the outside. But inside, it is a different story. The people that work there, as well as the people who run the restaurant, are most friendly and helpful. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. The breakfasts are delicious -- the breakfast sandwich is great, as are the ham... More

Stopped at the Argo as our daughter works nearby... and glad we did! The daily menu was impressive for folks who wish to have their "best" meal mid-day. We enjoyed simpler fare... burger with fries, clubhouse sandwich but our daughter ordered one of her favourites... spicy lamb on noodles. The staff here have excellent style... they've obviously been dancing this... More

We found this lovely cafe for breakfast one morning, our favourite was the breakfast burrito. The coffee, hot chocolate and Iced Chai were also really good. Fantastic value for money too.

I have eaten here time and time again and have never had anything less than spectacular. Restaurant is a little hole in the wall mostly servicing a warehouse district; open only until 4pm Mon to Fri. And they only take cash. The chef is a master with meat. Sure to melt in your mouth. And I think the most expensive... More

Saw this place on "You gotta eat here". So I packed up the kids as soon as we could and headed down on a Pro-D day as it is only open M-F, 7-4. "CASH ONLY". I didn't know about the cas only so after our meal (Kirby, I believe) let me run over to the AthletesVillage to get some cash.... More

Saw this gem on a food show (Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives). Me and 2 buddies went in at lunch to check out this hilarious little place. 80's booths all over, menu written on chalk boards on the walls. Free soup with every meal. 2 of us ordered the mexican poutine on fries... Amazing flavor, not too grease, nice size portion.... More
