This is my "go to" place whenever I am in Vancouver. The gyoza are fresh, hot, savoury homemade parcels of exploding flavour & textures. I order too many & eat them all. Soups are brimming bowls of comfort on any day, especially when it is raining.

Gyoza King is one of the main reason my wife and I go to Vancouver for vacation. Seattle lacks authenticity on the culinary side.... We always stay at a nearby hotel and go to Gyoza King for dinner. Earlier the better as the lines can get huge! Food is excellent. Don't expect huge entrees. This is Izakaya style, portions are... More

This place is fantastic! We got 2 orders of Gyoza (the pork/chive and the vegetable) and both were delicious. I ordered the Miso Ramen bowl and it was so amazing. The portions are large and really tasty! My boyfriend got scallops as well as spicy tuna carpaccio. The fish was so fresh and tender. Our waitress was very nice and... More

My husband and I lived in Japan in the late 80s and are huge Japanese food fans. I chose to go here for my birthday so our kids could experience an authentic Japanese izakaya. Though they do not serve my absolute favorite bar item--yaki onigiri--the tapas style dishes were tasty, innovative and fun. No sushi or tempura here, my friends!... More

If you love going to izakayas in Japan, this place is for you! I ended up going to Gyoza King two nights in a row since the food was so good! Don't be fooled by the name of the restaurant; although their gyozas are excellent, they also have all-time izakaya favorites like oden, fried chikuwa filled with cheese and grilled... More

I can't believe people have had a poor experience here. You should be aware, this is not your typical Japanese restaurant. The sign on the door clearly indicate there is no sushi or tempura served; they serve Japanese Tapas only. The staff is limited in English and that makes the experience even better. Food is served piping hot and portions... More

after 4 visits to vancouver we finally got in to Gyoza King and it lived up to its reviews and it was great! We stopped by for a late lunch and had Gyozas and Ramen . My only concern was it had been a few years since in Vancouver and still had some paper notes which they refused to accept... More

Arrived at this establishment with my family hoping for some delicious gyoza. We were sadly disappointed. The gyoza was terrible due to the fact each dumpling lacked a filling that was substantial and they were exceptionally oily. The rice had been hardened and browned from being overcooked and sitting in a pot all day (if not for three days.....). The... More

This is one of my must-dos every time I'm in Vancouver! Come for the Gyoza! Kind if a no-brainer eh?

Today (Aug 16), I met my spouse for lunch at Gyoza King at 12 noon. We were among the first customers there (2nd actually). We placed our order quickly. He received his complete order quickly. Other customers, who arrived after us, were receiving their orders. At this time, the restaurant was almost full. And yet, my order was not forthcoming.... More
