Nice setting and good food but expensive

Visited this with a fairly large group. Menu was extensive and the waiter was very helpful. I had wild boar for my main and the crab/Salmon appetizer. Wild Boar was great and the appetrizer was good (not sure it was worth $19)

When craving a classical Italian meal in a classy atmosphere, this restaurant is always our first choice. Carlos waited on us and was effecient and friendly. The escargot was served with puff pastry and was a tasty twist of a classic appetizer. My veal was tender with a yummy caper sauce. Warm rolls were amazing ! We were too full... More

The food was delicious, best Italian ever! The wine and dessert were just right.. the wait staff were perfect! Friendly, helpful and very simpatico! And to top it off, the jazz trio playing was flawless, best players I have heard in a long time! Thank you Francesco's for a wonderful anniversary experience!

I have always been here with family and friends and it has never disappointed, not even once. I usually stick with pastas in most Italian restaurants but here I think I have tried everything including the incredible daily specials. A can't miss experience. It's funny but I. Have read many reviews of Don Francesco's but not one mentioned the owner... More

The food is classic Italian. Extensive menu presents a dilemma choosing what to order. Antipasto and meatballs were excellent. Smoked duck pasta and seafood linguine were both excellent. The dessert trio was superb and must order. Nothing cute, nor nouveau in the food preparation, just plain wholesomely good. Wine selections are extensive, but slightly on the pricey side. Service was... More

Loved the Kale Cesar Salad. The house wine was excellent and reasonably priced. Pasta was rich and delicious. Very classy setting with a comfortable atmosphere. The service was great. I came with my elderly father and he was treated royally. The live music is awesome.

I was in a group of seven people who dined at the restaurant on a Saturday night. The food and service both were very good. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. The atmosphere was semi-formal but not at all stuffy. The price was commensurate. I would not hesitate to eat here again.

We ate at Francesco's over the weekend, and had not been there in at least two years. I was thrilled to see the service and food were still awesome! The escargot and fresh seafood were sublime, the lobster bisque and the onion soup were both excellent, and the pear sorbet made for an awesome dessert. A good wine list with... More

First of all,, the restaurant is not called DON FRANCESCO. It's called FRANCESCO'S RISTORANTE ITALIA, and it's located at 860 Burrard, not 850. The decor is elegant, lovely and romantic. The food is near excellent. The live entertainment is jazz. The food, as seems the sad case in most relatively deluxe restaurants, is quite small portioned; so, if you're hungry,... More

Dined here Sunday February 8, with friends. The service is impeccable, our waiter was incredibly knowledgable about the menu and wine parings for the appetizers and dessert as well as the main course. It was delicious. I had traditional spaghetti and meatballs and IT was to die for, very flavourful. Appetizers and dessert were all very good. Will definitely done... More
