A Yaletown icon for 15+ years, Brix Restaurant has said goodbye to its downstairs cocktail lounge, George, and brought the newly renovated space together with Brix under one roof and one new name - Brix & Mortar. With the new concept comes a refreshed food and beverage program-including 60+ wines by the glass-offered with the same on-point service, starting at 5:00 pm daily. The new menu features modern Canadian cuisine with subtle French, Italian and Asian influences and locally sourced ingredients. Accessible from both Homer and Hamilton St., Brix & Mortar offers 228 seats, with 80 situated over two outdoor patios, including the iconic outdoor courtyard-a favourite for hosted events and weddings. The downstairs space has undergone an exciting redesign, creating a fine-dining room suitable for any occasion or appetite.

Dine Out Vancouver - AMAZING experience as always!

My wife and I unintentionally stumbled into Dine Out Vancouver 2016. We had one night in town, and had reserved far in advance at Brix and Mortar; maybe we were a little nervous when we learned that we were walking into a fixed-menu meal. However, nothing at Brix and Mortar disappointed. The food was outstanding (starters: lamb salad and Albacore... More

I have been to this restaurant twice now - once with a large group and once just 2 of us. The first time was last fall as a group and we ate downstairs - food was delicious and setting comfortable/casual. Service was great. The second time was on January 18, 2016 - a Monday. We sat in the "courtyard" upstairs... More

The building that houses Brix & Mortar appears to have been built in the early 1900's, a visit to this restaurant is worthwhile if for no other reason than to admire the architecture of this magnificent heritage building. Brix & Mortar occupies 2 floors and also boasts an outdoor patio. We were introduced to this fine establishment by an offering... More

My dining partner and I immensely enjoyed our evening at Brix and Mortar. We were taking advantage of the last few nights left of the Dine Out Vancouver Festival and ordered off the $48.00 menu. Two menus to choose from. Our server Aaron was very attentive to our needs and ensured we enjoyed our time. I ordered the sablefish, a... More

We went to Brix with some friends for dinner the other night and we were privileged to have Marco as our waiter. He was attentive and had great recommendations for all of us. The atmosphere was serene and beautiful in the courtyard area a perfect place to spend an evening with friends. The food was outstanding and the servings were... More

I chose this restaurant to take my parents to during Dine Out Vancouver. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful and the staff took the time to tell us the history of the building. The recommendations the staff made about our meals were helpful and the food presentation was beautiful. I appreciate the details and I loved that hummus and butter came... More

I came here with my husband and parents for Dine-Out Vancouver. They held a wedding upstairs so we were seated downstairs at the far back end of the restaurant. The ambience was mediocre, we felt like we weren't really part of the restaurant, and the TV fireplace didn't look great. Food: Don't get the pork belly! It is incredibly dry... More

From the second you walk in the door, you are treated with the excellence that one should receive when dining out. We sat in the courtyard, which bares a strong resemblance to nights spent dining in Southern Italy under twinkling lights (the well powered heat lamps help you forget that it is actually chilly wet Vancouver). Delicious food, prepared with... More

What a wonderful 3 course meal served for the annual dine out Vancouver. I chose the butternut Squash soup to start. Was so delicious and packed with flavor! For my entree I had the salmon. It was perfectly cooked, tender and not over cooked. For dessert the vanilla panna cotta, which was light and refreshing. Wonderfully handcrafted cocktails, warm and... More

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
