I came here years ago with family and loved it and then my husband and I came recently for a romantic dinner and I can't believe I forgot how lovely Bishop's truly is! From the moment we entered, we were greeted warmly and the staff didn't miss a beat throughout. Each course was delicious and delivered in a timely manner,... More

This is still one of Vancouver's finest restaurants without a doubt. We dined with my sister and her husband who eat out a lot It was their first time at Bishop's and they had one of the best meals of their lives. A great room where you don't feel so packed together. Mr Bishop never changes-- the consummate host and... More

Great for old people who need a teaspoon of salt on every ill conceived dish. This place was great 10 years ago...now its a joke. Wait staff is worse than the food...they act as if they are doing you a favor by stepping into their bizarre museum of culinary antiquity. Don't waste a minute or a dollar here. Please!

Nice little restaurant few miles out of the downtown with good ambiance and awesome food. Had a dinner with a number of friends and enjoyed phenomenal halibut on a bed of beans, prepared to perfection. Salad was less than perfect, too dry, hence 4 stars. Also had an enormous creme brûlée. Service was super courteous, fast and nice. Place is... More

After a long work week and the fall weather approaching, my partner and I decided to go for a Friday dinner at Bishop's. We immediately felt comfortable in the intimate room, and were seated upstairs where we enjoyed some First Nations artwork on display. Our host, Abel, suggested the fresh oysters on the half-shell. We would definitely order these again... More

It has been over a decade since we last visited this Vancouver classic (and funnily enough, we we seated at the exact same table - PS don't ask how I know this, I remember the strangest things and forget other more important things. Hey, where are my keys? :) ) Anyway, back to Bishops. The restaurant still has that 'classy'... More

My husband and I went here for his birthday dinner. Living in Vancouver, everyone knows Bishop's restaurant and we were excited to finally be able to try a piece of Vancouver's culinary history. Unfortunately the meal and the entire experience was disappointing. While the ambiance was romantic, the decor was a bit dated. The staff was polite, but our waiter... More

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
