A long drive from downtown should not detour you from visiting a fab restaurant serving classic dishes in a refined, but relaxed manner. Good choices, excellent wine list, great cocktails combined with seamless service makes this rival San Francisco and NYC eateries. And it is so quiet, what a relief from the trend to loudness in fine dining. Don't miss... More

We made reservation on the same day for a weekday dinner, it was lucky that we were able to get a table, as the place was fully booked. First & most important, food was delicious and nicely presented, especially beet salad (inteesting, with different types of beet on a plate) and grilled duck main dish (flavorful, and just excellent). My... More

a sublime experience, the food was superb, all the ingredients were the best quality, the preparation and presentation were both sympathetic to the food, and emphasized the quality of the ingredients. We all had seafood, oysters followed by tuna tartar and octopus...all delicious. the mains were satisfying and generous, providing just the right balance, and all cooked to perfection. The wine... We pre booked a few weeks before our Holiday as it was a Saturday Night and the Last Night of our Trip. The food and service were second to none and in line with all the other reviews. But John Bishop is a Charming man that spend all evening in the restaurant chatting to the customers. We as fellow Brits... More

John Bishop and his staff make you feel right at home. Great Food, and nice ambiance. We love eating out and with only a 4 night stay in Vancouver we wanted to dine at the best restaurants. Bishop's was the best of all. It might not be everyones favorite restaurant but it was ours. I had the Duck and it... More

From the warm and relaxed greeting at the door, to our last sip of coffee, this dining experience was excellent. The various restaurant staff who provided wine and food recommendations, and served, were never overbearing. Rather, it gives the feeling of being taken care of and appreciated as a customer. The food was creative and yet simply delicious. A tuna... More

Food, ambiance and especially service are of the highest order here. John Bishop speaks to everyone if he's in which is the ultimate in personal service. The presentation of the food was of the highest order - this is definitely fine dining. My one niggle was the lack of seasoning. Other reviewers have mentioned this as a positive point. For... More

My wife and I were spending a weekend in Vancouver and wanted that special restaurant to top off our visit. Bishops came highly recommended by both TripAdvisor and other frequent traveler boards. Our hopes were high but the experience left me wanting more... Maybe it is because I travel extensively for work and dine out quite often and some exquisite... More

The owner John Bishop came to each table and greeted everyone. The staff members were pleasant and provided fantastic service. The ingredients tasted fresh and worked well together. Each course was not overwhelmed in sauces/seasonings/oil. Would definitely recommend the restaurant to friends.

This place is not hip. It is NOT happening. You'll be hard pressed to find any patron born before 1970 who is not there with a parent. But the food and service here are fantastic. Many restaurants use butter and salt to fool you into thinking that you're getting something awesome. The chefs at Bishop's let the food speak for... More
