Dined here to celebrate our adult daughter's graduation in August...and it was wonderful from the moment we stepped out of the car and Mr. Bishop plugged the meter for us. Outstanding service, wonderful wines and some of the best food we have ever enjoyed...and we have dined all over the world, in some of Canada's finest, and are good home... More

I don't recall memorable meals at Bishops, but I I recall the superb service and presentations. This time the halibut was delcious. The duck entree, appetizers, and desserts were nice -- and the additinal special appetizer was superb. A very relaxing dinner.

Meeting a local Vancouver friend for a quiet dinner we couldn't have chosen a better spot. From the warm greeting as we entered it was perfect. Discreet waitstaff who knew whenever you wanted/needed something and appeared without a fuss to the scrumptious dinner. Making beet salad something special requires skill and it was perfectly seasoned and the beets cooked just... More

I admire a thing done well. Everything Bishop's does, they do very very well. The exterior is rather nondescript, which makes the extremely tasteful, understated dining room all the more striking and affecting. The menu is limited - which I regard as a marker for a restaurant that is committed to excellence in every dish they serve. The ingredients were,... More

I saw amazing reviews on tripadvisor and Zagat so thought it was a must restaurant to try in Vancouver and I'm so glad I did. Went on a Thursday night and the restaurant seemed somewhat empty. The staff was very pleasant and an older gentleman who I assume was Mr. Bishop welcomed us. Everything from the cocktails to the appetizers... More

Not often one gets the chance to dine at a restaurant that has been in business for decades and the owner is present and very much involved. Bishop’s is such a place and well worth the trip from downtown (if you are a visitor to Vancouver) to the vibrant neighborhood of Kitsilano and West 4th Ave in particular. This fine... More

This was our first visit to Bishops, which is clearly a favorite Vancouver fine dining destination. It's a small restaurant on busy W. 4th Avenue, but once inside it felt warm and welcoming, comfortable yet sophisticated. The plates were well presented and each dish delicious; the service was attentive, the Okanagan Valley wine perfect with our beef and pork dishes.... More

Four of us had a wonderful evening meal at Bishop's after making a reservation based on tripadviser reviews. It did not disappoint. It is relatively small and the place was full but we had no trouble conversing. The service was superb and the food was creative, fresh, and delicious. The wine list was extensive by the glass, half-bottle and bottle.... More

There are many excellent restaurants in Vancouver, BC, but for fine dining, Bishop's is the sine qua non. It has served the city for nearly a quarter century and, as another reviewer has stated, provides an unchanging level of quality that has allowed it to avoid the boom or bust cycle of most restaurants. On our visit to celebrate my... More

I have heard and read about Bishop's a lot and thus I had to pay a visit before I leave Vancouver. No, I was not disappointed. Overall the meal was very good with some highlights. The amuse bouche was a little bland but cute. The albacore tuna tartare was absolutely amazing. Clearly, Chef Bishop is not afraid of spicy and... More
