Not worth the visit

Three of us decided to try this restaurant on a Sunday. Arriving at 6:00 p.m we were quite surprised to see an empty restaurant. There's not much to this small, apparently family run restaurant on Robson. The atmosphere is plain, the folks are friendly enough but basically going through the motions, the food is good enough for lunch, but nothing spectacular. I had the lamb gosh and it was tasty, and the heat was as ordered (medium spicy), but it was nothing that I... More

You have been in this Indian restaurant a dozen times. This is as 'typical' as an Indian place gets. Our food was OK. Our service was OK. When you come to places like this you know exactly what your getting into. Would a return? Sure. Will I return? No. Not because it was bad, it just wasn't good. No effort... More

I had a guest from Montreal and brought him to this restaurant since he asked for Indian. Service was okay but waitress did not seem to care much. Food was so horrible. I am an indian and it didn't look great right when I got the plate. When I tried the food it was just horrible. My guest had left... More

We have eaten here often over the course of many years in Vancouver. We consider this our faithful reliable dining. It's not the prettiest facility but the food is very very tasty. We love the Tandoori dishes and the Lamb Spinach the most and our daughter always gobbles it up. I had family in town and there were 20 of... More

We live in Berlin, which has an unforgiveable lack of any good Indian food (literally any; we’ve been trying places for almost three years). This was a breath of fresh air. It had no pretence about it, but was a really outstanding example of what can be good about Indian food in Western cities. The chicken madras was outstanding quality... More

Looking for a place to eat, walking by the restaurant, smelled the indian food and decided to go in with family. The restaurant pretty low key, nothing fancy. we ordered butter chicken and tikka masala, both were to dye for, service a bit slow and not very enthusiastic, but the food was amazing.

The place is classic daggy Indian decor, friendly service that was prompt and efficient pleasant wine selection at reasonable prices. The food was patchy the special nann enjoyable, stale poppodams, nice rice ..I am a bit bemused by the butter chicken lamb rogangosh and Dahl all tasting similar ?.. ok but this will never become a favorite.

We were walking around looking for a restaurant for dinner and my wife pointed out A Taste of India Restaurant. We were having an early dinner so we were the only people in the restaurant. Although several people stopped in for take out. The atmosphere was nice, service good, and the food was good. My wife (who likes Indian food)... More

On the last night of a 6 week holiday I just felt like Indian for dinner. As my accommodation was on Robson Street I didn't have far to walk until I found this. They had quite an extensive menu, so plenty to choose from. My lamb samosas were crisp with plenty of lamb filling. The butter chicken, which I ordered... More
