Looking for a place to eat, walking by the restaurant, smelled the indian food and decided to go in with family. The restaurant pretty low key, nothing fancy. we ordered butter chicken and tikka masala, both were to dye for, service a bit slow and not very enthusiastic, but the food was amazing.

The place is classic daggy Indian decor, friendly service that was prompt and efficient pleasant wine selection at reasonable prices. The food was patchy the special nann enjoyable, stale poppodams, nice rice ..I am a bit bemused by the butter chicken lamb rogangosh and Dahl all tasting similar ?.. ok but this will never become a favorite.

We were walking around looking for a restaurant for dinner and my wife pointed out A Taste of India Restaurant. We were having an early dinner so we were the only people in the restaurant. Although several people stopped in for take out. The atmosphere was nice, service good, and the food was good. My wife (who likes Indian food)... More

On the last night of a 6 week holiday I just felt like Indian for dinner. As my accommodation was on Robson Street I didn't have far to walk until I found this. They had quite an extensive menu, so plenty to choose from. My lamb samosas were crisp with plenty of lamb filling. The butter chicken, which I ordered... More

On a family trip to Vancouver, we were walking down Robson at lunchtime looking for a place to eat and saw Taste of India. We decided to give it a try. The sign in the window mentioned "lunch special $6.99" so we figured it must be worth at least that. Turns out that there are about 5 or 6 items... More

I was lured in by the editorial in the window which commended the restaurant,. I had a takeaway , vegetable biryani. It was a large portion, but I was distressed to find that the biryani sauce was not served seperately, so ended up with a mixed vegetable rice. The peshwari nan was mostly inedible, very dry, little coconut or honey... More

I agree absolutely with the comments of the Indian reviewer earlier. This was the worse meal I have ever had at any Indian restaurant anywhere. Coming from the UK, I think I know a thing or two about a decent curry. The starters of vegetable samosas and onion bhajis were tasteless and covered in a horrible thick batter which was... More

We were staying in Hotel Blue Horizon Vancouver when we found this hotel on other side of road.We found the same very convenient. The food was good. But you need to specify how hot you want your dish to be.This is important factor to specify before ordering. We found some one ordering chicken masala with very hot gravy and man we found... More

Entriely average. Maybe better if you're there for onions rather than meat. Flavours were OK but the balance was off.

This was my third meal at the restaurant (I eat there every time I'm in Vancouver). It is very near the hotel I always stay at and the selection of food is extensive, so I can always find something new and interesting to suit my mood of the evening. Watching Bollywood movies on the large flat-screen TV is fun, too.... More
