Happy Hour!

Stopped in with a few of the gals after a dance class just in time for happy hour! We ordered Beers and Caesars, one of each of the appys and a cauliflower soup - all super delish!! it was the first time any of us had been here and we all said we would definitely be back.

We had previously eaten in this street, and decided to risk eating at the West Oak. Nothing could have prepared us for the fact that their standard Malbec red was very smooth and very good. The food was exemplary. The fish was freshly baked (not heated in a microwave) and cooked to perfection - flakey and soft. Served over a... More

West Oak offers 50% off all appetizers during happy hour between 1500 - 1800 hours. Located in Yaletown, an old warehouse district now a trendy area near downtown Vancouver. Parking is so limited and expensive, it would be advisable to take a taxi. We were greeted warmly when we entered the restaurant and given our choice of tables. We were... More

Looking for great appetizers, a drink or a great burger? West Oak fits the bill with covered street side seating. Service a little slow but friendly but it was a Canucks pre-game night! Good selection of bottled beer but nothing on tap...only downside. Good local wine selection.

Nosh and Nibble came here for Taste of Yaletown ($35/person) and I had a great taste of the following: Burrata & Prosciutto Roasted Sable Fish Roasted BC Salmon Braised Lamb Shank Bitter Chocolate Flourless Cake Lemon Cheesecake The Burrata & Prosciutto came with olives, fig jam, mustard, and grilled bread. I loved the bread. It was chewy on the inside... More

I very much enjoyed my meal here. We came on a rainy Thursday night and it wasn't too busy. I liked thoe pen concept and that you could see the cooks in the kitchen. We order the burrata and prosciutto plate to start ( I took a pic it looked so good) and I ordered the halibut and my husband... More

I've been here 3 times now - first for cocktails, then for dinner, and then tried their brunch. The food was really good, I enjoyed dinner the best as I had the amazing crab cakes for appy and the scallops for main. Yummy cocktails. Menu reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great, not too loud, tables were well organized. Loved the... More

Wandered along Mainland and found this gem: service was good, attentive without being bothersome. My wife and I shared some crab cakes and then both had the halibut main course. We both enjoy halibut done well and West Oak did well! Staff were on the whole fun, engaging and seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. Wine, beer menu should suit most... More

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
