Chef Whittaker’s vision features dishes that are unpretentious and innovatively prepared using products sourced from local and organic farmers, fishers and producers whenever possible. These combine for a menu featuring snacks such as “crackling & popcorn”; a variety of creative “boards” and “irons” to share; tasty “plates” to nosh on together or enjoy solo as a main; and desserts for a sweet (and a bit savoury) finish.

In June 2014 my friend and I were in the city of Vancouver for the Cher concert and after doing some research decided that this little spot was on our hit list for food destinations. We were not disappointed. We hopped off one of the great double deckers and had a quick walk that brought us to the door of... More

Chose Forage as it was within a few 100 meters of our hotel on the day we arrived. Restaurant has very good reviews on TripAdvisor and we followed the suggestions to book in advance. Restaurant was very full but we had a nice table for 2 and were served by an extremely friendly waiter. The Bison rib-eye and the 'honey... More

Forage was fantastic! If this restaurant was located in Toronto I'd find it hard not to eat there everyday. We went for brunch and there was no line up (which was pretty great!). Everything on offer was simply superb.

We tried a number items from the appetizer section to make a varied, delicious meal for two. The fresh spot prawns were very good, and the salads were imaginative and tasty. Good local beer selections on tap, as well. And very reasonably priced. Service was attentive without being obtrusive and the room is nicely decorated.

The husband and I ate at Forage last night. It offers an unusual and interesting menu, locally sourced and inventively put together. We started with the kale & apple chips which proved to be too large a serving for us two, since we were going on to have a full meal. But they were fun, if a tad salty. Then... More

We were recommended this place by the Listel Hotel and we were not disappointed. We sat down in the courtyard to enjoy the nice weather. The food was excellent. I had the spiced lentils and my husband the duck confit omelet. We also tried the French toast. We were impressed with the quality and quantity of the food.

The food at forage is not particularly creative but was fresh, delicious, and filling. The drinks were fantastic and the service was equally so. There is a cute outdoor area out back with long beer-garden tables that you share with others. We opted for indoor dining due to the heat. Glad we came.
