What a PLEASANT surprise!

One of those happy off chance visits that just happened to be on my way home... and definitely somewhere I'll be going out of my way to return to in the future! The food was absolutely delicious. The server was very helpful and aware about which dishes were okay for someone with gluten intolerance and to what degree cross contamination... More

Authentic? Good nonetheless. A short list of tacos were all pretty decent, although the carne asada left something to be desired. The al pastor, in reality a Carnitas, was tasty as were the fish and chicken versions. The mussels were excellent as was the broth and rice in the Brazilian stew. The beer was cold and some raved about the... More

After a completely underwhelming meal at another Mexican restaurant in Vancouver, a friend brought me to El Caminos and now I want to come back every time I'm in town. My friend and I shared chips and salsa and guac (delicious) and the Pescado tacos (also incredibly delicious) and we each ordered a Gambas Arepa and it changed my life... More

I visited here recently, didn't know anything about the place and was really surprised at how lovely the food is here. I have to agree with other reviewers that the portions are a little small for the price you pay, but it tastes fresh and amazing. I wish I had been hungrier and that the prices were a little lower... Seriously, I almost fell off the bench when I was served a taco at el camino. This place's claim to fame is that it serves authentic mexican street tacos. Yes they are delicious but $5-7 for a typical small taco the size of my small hand, well it's outrageous. I was expecting a side or some form as a filler,... More

In Vancouver last weekend and dropped into El Camino's on a Friday night. Yes...it was crowded and took us 15 minutes to get seated...not bad. Started with a round of margaritas...yum. Had a variety of tapas that were all distinctively tasty. Loved the vibe and the 70s music. Service was friendly and pretty good considering the crowd. A little spendy... More

Great atmosphere, right on main street and close to lots of cool shops. I have been there for drinks the other morning we went for brunch. We had the eggs Benny options. They were so tasty as delusions, they have there own hot sauce and if you love tequila they have the largest selection in the city.

The food is quite good, albeit a little pricey for what you get. Especially when its "Street food". Service is usually atrocious, and the place can be packed at night.

excellent food in a small space-got to get there early if you want a seat. Very much a local hangout-had the short ribs and mussels-was very good. A definite Latin America flavor with lots of spices. A very good menu of alternatives from Latin America. Can be noisy when full. Good for a try.
