The cost of this meal with 3 courses was only $35 per person, however with a family of 4 it was still over $200 with tip and drinks. So for us, not a regular restaurant but for special occasions the food was excellent. I was concerned the portions would not be filling enough but I walked out very full. Tried... More

Food was good, atmosphere was good, service was ... good. A good night.. nothing wrong. But not a "waow" experience. I ll come back in few month.

I was surprised to find this Bistro rated #1 by Tripadvisor in Vancouver area. On a warm Sept Saturday evening, we had no trouble securing a reservation within 24 hrs and were seated at 5:50pm for a 6pm sitting. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and relaxed. We brought our own wine for $21 corkage - quite reasonable. Among the limited... More

Just left this quirky but super little French restaurant in Vancouver- we had an absolutely delicious meal and the owners (Juliana and hubby) looked after us fantastically. Hubby (the chef) even flagged us down a taxi - we were the last to leave (no pressure whatsoever). Great value for money also. You need to give this place a go!!!!

This tiny little place on Commercial Drive is outstanding. It has some of the best service I have ever experienced. The small menu means that more attention is paid to a small number of dishes. The food is excellent and the prix fixe is very reasonable.

Celebrating a special anniversary with friends could not be more simple to arrange or more delicious than trusting the amiable staff and delectable fare at Absinthe Bistro on Vancouver's "Drive". Juliana, our sparkling hostess, ensured a romantic table for four in the intimate, candlelit bistro and we availed ourselves of the "fixed price" menu that offered a welcome choice of... More

As the #1 on Trip Advisor I simply hand to dine here while in Vancouver. I emailed the restaurant and pleaded my case, knowing the restaurant was fully booked the five nights I was in town. I begged any table available, at any time, on any day and promised to be in and out in an hour, max. To my... More

We had to change the reservations at the last moment, but they were very accommodating. We arrived early as well, but they had a table ready for us. The service was very friendly, and the food was amazing, even though the portions were small, we were still very full at the end of the dinner. The one thing that I... More

I live in Vancouver and eat out a lot. I have had dinner at Absinthe twice this summer. We were just back from several weeks of great meals in NYC and Toronto and my wife, daughter and I concluded that there was no restaurant that did it any better than this small eatery on Commercial Drive. The food here excellent.... More

We found this place on trip advisor and decided to try it while we were visiting Vancouver. It was absolutely incredible!! The scallops were to die for and my husband raved about the halibut. If we ever visit vancouver again we will definitely stop in for dinner! It was a meal we will never forget!
