Description: Restaurant ConceptEstablished as a second location of Aburi Brand, and recognized as the North American home of Aburi Sushi, Minami offers a combination Japanese and West Coast cuisine in a comfortable rustic space. We offer unique takes on beef, pork, poultry, and seafood dishes to enjoy with your choice of sake, wine, or specialty beverage created by our amazing bar team. From special occasions to intimate gatherings with family or friends to corporate events, we create a welcoming atmosphere with impeccable service, providing a memorable dining experience.Culinary BrandAppetizer SushiAburi Sushi is a corporate symbol of our company, enjoyed by hundreds of Vancouverites. We are excited to introduce our new Aburi Sushi appetizers, showcasing our unique style of cuisine. The combination of our original shari cooked in our own unique traditional method and flame searing technique has turned sushi into an exciting culinary experience. Enjoy our new innovative Aburi Sushi as the perfect way to start your dining experience alongside your favourite beverage. EntréeOur entrée menu places an emphasis on our beef, poultry, and seafood dishes. Our dedicated chef team prepares our entrees not only focusing on the protein, but also bringing our vegetable side dish to the next level using seasonal ingredient to complement the flavour of the meat. We insist that a great entrée be accompanied by an equally great side. Our chefs focus on flavour and compatibility for your enjoyment. Service Concept: NINGENMILike Miku, our service concept at Minami is “Ningenmi”, “Find joy in yourself by bringing pleasure to guests”This was formed by blending service concepts from two cultures: from Japan, Omotenashi and Wagokoro, (which translates to Japanese Heart), and from North America, one-on-one personal service. Each guest that enters the restaurant is treated as a guest of the entire restaurant; this means, not only will your server look after your experience, but everyone working in that room will contribute to making your dining experience a memorable one. However, while the atmosphere and service at Miku boasts a friendly, bright and lively energy, like that of a busy summer day, guests dining at Minami can expect a more relaxed, warm atmosphere with heartfelt service, like the calm of the beach at sunset.Ningenmi creates an inimitable atmosphere completely unique to Aburi Restaurants. Minami is place where you can enjoy a relaxed evening with our extensive sake selection while being captivated by a delicious meal.

Over the top...melt in your mouth sushi! Located in Yaletown, a fun & vibrant part of Vancouver, this restaurant offers some of the best sushi I've ever had. While sitting at the bar, we visited with the chef's and enjoyed their artistic and creative talents. This is a high energy fun place to dine. The menu is not just limited... More

I was so excited for this meal as an adventure of getting a secret meal. Omakase means "I'll leave it to you". Trusting the chef to provide you with a unique meal that often times included things that aren't on the menu. The staff was amazing everyone was so friendly even the chef thanked us for being able to serve... More

My previous experience with sushi is limited to take-out California rolls and the like from the mall, so I am certainly not qualified to rate how this restaurant's sushi stands up to any other sushi from a fine dining establishment. All I can say is that I absolutely adored every bite - and I have only occasionally eaten raw seafood... More

Tried Minami for the first time earlier in the week and went back 2 days later. One of the most memorable Japanese meals we've ever had (we eat Japanese food regularly in the Toronto area, and whenever we're in Asia, Hawaii or Vegas). Perhaps the only place outside Japan that rivals Minami in quality and creativity in my recent memory... More

On arriving at Minami we confessed to our server our total ignorance of Japanese food -- we even asked for forks, although our chopstick skills improved over the course of the night, before worsening again following a bottle of white wine and the flight of three different sakes! We ordered the tasting menu and every item was delicious; the lovely... More

What a treat! It definitely deserves its high TA rating. The place is sleek and modern, the service was outstanding, and the food excellent. We shared: Ebi Oshi Sushi, Red Wave Roll, Premium Aburi, and Salmon Carpaccio. If we had time we would have gone back for another meal. I'm convinced that everything on the menu is great. All around... More

FOOD Though there are different styles of dishes on the menu, you want to stay as close to sushi as possible, that's what best here. I can very much recommend Albacore Tuna and Seaweed Tartare, Aburi Sushi Sampler (informative), Saba Oshi Sushi (if you like smoked mackerel), Minami Roll , Crunchy Hokkaido Scallop Roll (it is crunchy) and Wagyu Beef... Based on the excellent Tripadvisor reviews, we decided to have lunch in this restaurant in Vancouver Yaletown. What an excellent choice! This was our best sushi ever. Their speciality is Oshi Sushi, where a marinade gets burned on top of the sushi (the process looks like preparing crème brulee). We also had a varied sushi platter, Sashimi and rolls with... More

This is by far the best sushi restaurant ever. The food was fresh and delicious and our server was excellent. We had lots of questions that were answered with thought and grace. My dinner companion is not a huge fish fan and she almost licked the plate clean. We did the 3 course chef's choice and we're delighted with all... More

This restaurant consistently serve good quality sushi everytime we visit. Most of the menu we have tried and most of them taste delicious. Our favorite there is their aburi sushi and their fish carpaccio. I have also dined in the private room and I highly recommend it when people want to have an intimate and tasty party.
