Amazing treats

I go to Bon Ton maybe twice a year. A friend and I always go when they are in town for tea and fruit bread. OH THE FRUIT BREAD! We have never had bad service, always friendly and prompt and the treats are divine! Will be going back again and again.

Staff are slow and seem clueless. Pastries were good, but the poor level of service ruined it for me. Will not be back. Dissapointed.

I'm sorry to say I share the sentiments of the other reviewers. I went in recently to purchase an apple strudel. The one server had her back to me behind the counter. Thinking that she did not see me waiting to place an order, I cheerfully said, "Hello!" She whipped around and very tartly responded, "I'm working on something right... More

Notte's has been a family favourite for over 40 years - back when they were on Granville Street. Well the business has moved to a friendlier location and has passed to younger hands. Good to say the quality of the pastries and especially the Diplomat cake have stayed the same even if they are getting a little smaller. I must... More

If it wasn't because my kids love that diplomat cake at bon ton there would be absolutely no reason to frequent this place. I have purchased the Diplomat cake dating back when the bakery was downtown Granville st, customer service was good, but what can I say as a lot of people have already mentioned, has gone down hill. To... More

I grew up eating Diplomat cake from Notte's Bon Ton. We had it for every birthday, year after year. My Mom and grandparent’s had it before my generation came along. Now, when I come to visit from Vancouver, my Mom always has it for my partner and me. Well, this is the last time. Things have changed. The icing was... More

Well, my chocolate cream puff was out of this world. The coffee so so, but this is no coffee house anyway. If you have the spirit and the time, get a Tea Reading for less than $5! Had a ham & cheese croissant that was well worth the $4.90, small but very tasty. Smiles and old world charm! You will... More

For years I've been getting a box of treats for my Mum on special occasions. Lucky for her, she doesn't have to deal with the terrible customer service which has been on a steady decline. Not only have I been ignored when I'm the only one standing at the counter, the staff seem really put out when you ask for... More

After years of putting up with very grumpy service I am done with the Bon Ton. A family tradition of diplomat cakes that are so rich they almost make us sick but we have always loved them and travel a good distance to get them for special occasions. So because the management and owners don't seem to care about the... More

We stopped in to pick up some pastries as this had been a favourite haunt in years gone by. We felt as though we were interrupting the server's day as she was brusque, impatient and unwelcoming, even though there were no other customers. The brioche was not fresh but the pastries were as delicious as ever. Some places can exude... More
