Had Fable on the last morning of my 9 day trip and it blew all other meals we had eaten out of the water. The bruch was delicious! If only it wasnt such a long way for a return visit!

My wife selected this restaurant to try for her birthday after reading the glowing reviews. We already knew that we were going to try the canned tuna - I was looking forward to observing the open kitchen. I had noted in the reviews how responsive the owner was to the comments and I was impressed with the response to a... More

Fable delivers the benchmark for all other restaurants. Nice simple space. The kitchen in view. Excellent service from knowledgable servers. The food is so delicious. I love the concept. I have been 4 times and consistently great.

I've been to fable for dinner and most recently lunch. Both visits have completely wowed me with the service and the food. The canned tuna is an absolute must have and the shepherd's pie is the best I've had.

Thank you so much for this short and sweet review! We are looking forward to your next visit - time for brunch perhaps? Boozey Brunch on the last Sunday of every month is one that we take a few reservations for - a Vancouver fave! ($4 premium dbl Caesar? - What!) More

After enjoying lunch at Fable some time ago, expectations were quite high for dinner. Everything was delicious. For appetizers, we had both the tuna and duck liver spread served with thinly sliced, toasted crostini. The duck was so good that we all ordered the duck breast for our main course. It was perfectly cooked with touch of cranberries and paired... More

Thank you so much for this lovely review and for being our guest at both lunch and dinner! It's true, reservations are a great idea. We do leave room for our walk ins and local guests, but the competition for these seats progresses as the night wears on, so the safest bet is always to secure your spot in advance.... More

I reviewed Fable a couple of months ago and at the time thought it rather average, but I'm glad I decided to visit a second time and I think it deserves a re-review. Our mains were fantastic, the special pork was amazing and the chicken very tasty & moist. There was also a pork croquette first course which was good,... More

Thank you so much for returning to Fable and updating your review! We think it's pretty awesome that you came back and so glad that you enjoyed your visit. Definitely do try the meatball & the fritters. These two appies, along with the canned tuna are the only three that have been on the menu since day one and all... More

My husband and I each ordered the cream of tomato soup, which we found irresistible, but so did the fruit flies. They were after it, and no amount of shooing would deter them. We did not let these uninvited guests spoil the meal for us though; my BLT and his grilled cheese sandwich were great, he enjoyed his Gin Old... More

Thank you so much for your visit and your positive review. Loved the food at Fable. Started dinner with a good bottle of Cotes du Rhone wine, with corn bread and pate for appies -- both very good. The duck and roasted pork mains were, however, outstanding. I usually only eat half my food, but I gobbled everything up easily so no room for dessert but didn't feel grossly full. Would... More

My husband and I had brunch at Fable and were seated at the counter where we had a direct and up close view of the open kitchen. Five chefs/cooks were busy preparing the steady stream of orders, and because my husband and I were not facing each other, we focused on the hub of activity in front of us instead.... More

We are more than sorry to hear of this experience, and apologize. We really care about every aspect of Fable - and what was described does not represent what we hope to achieve in the vision of our restaurant. Beyond apology, we would like to thank you, as we will act on everything mentioned. We have already met and put... More

The service was really good. I liked the decore. The food was really good. The menu is small so can't really complain about the few vegetarian options. I did think the food was a bit overpriced especially the cheesecake which was tiny and tasted similar to cheesecakes I've had before.

Thank you so much for your compliments of our food, service and atmosphere! We are glad we hit all the marks. It is true that only 30% of the entree items on our small constantly changing menu are vegetarian, we have found that this is a good mix to please the majority of guests. Sorry the value wasn't perceived. It... More
