Great sushi, great prices

The menu is extensive, with lots of little helps for those not familiar with the dishes ("top seller" "most popular" etc.) They have all the sushi rolls you'd expect (brown rice available for $1 extra), donburi, etc., and a few unusual Japanese-style tapas items. They have a really good wine list... read more

Quite possibly the worst sushi I have had in Vancouver. The Kani sunomono was not in fact a sunomono at all, and the kani tasted terribly old and fishy. The "best spicy tuna roll in town", was hardly that. The red tuna was in the freezer too long and frost burnt. It was chewy and I had to remove the... More

I visited this place with friends and was impressed by both the quality of the food and service. I would highly recommend it!

This is premium quality sushi, but at more affordable rates. If you want heaps of food for next to nothing, than this isn't the place for you. You will need to order approx. 3 dishes per person, so you'll pay approx. $24. However, the $10 sushi and beer/wine combo is sufficient for most women. The sushi is warm and delicate,... More

I had 5 different items and only 1 was fresh and not frozen. The albacore tataki was flavorless (i guess frozen), the tako, aji and saba were not fresh. The blue fin tuna was quite good. Just not fresh enough for me to recommend...Most people eating rolls, so it is much harder to tell the freshness.

This little sushi restaurant is just one of millions in the city. So we were very happy to find it some of the best sushi we have ever had! Very quick and lovely, pleasant staff. I town for a week and made it a routine.

Had read good reviews of this local spot so decided to drop in, got there just after opening and sat at the bar. Fatty tuna and Spanish mackerel were the specials and both were incredible, what a treat! All of the nigiri and rolls were carefully prepared, no sloppy rolls in this joint. The locals are lucky to have such... More

We were wandering on a Monday night, looking for a sushi place that was actually open, and happened across this little gem. It's tiny but well put together, and we lucked out and got a table that opened up just as we walked in. The sushi was fresh and delicious, and judging by the minor celebrity sighting at the table... We went a little late, the place is tiny , we chose it because there were still customers inside so expected it to be good. The place smelled as we entered but bcos of the late hour we thought we'll grab a bite. There was only one server for the whole restaurant . I wasn't satisfied with the cleanliness. We... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
