Description: Welcome to The French TableFormer Master Executive Chef Herve Martin is proud to present his newest eating establishment, The French Table. Nestled cosily in the Riley Park area on Main St & 23rd Ave, it’s a far away from the former Hermitage restaurant, which was a downtown staple on Robson Street for 24 years until last year. After the developer announced new plans, Herve patiently and rightfully re-located to an area that’s ripe for a surburban French cuisine in this up and coming, bustling area. The French Table still carries the tradition of its former self, especially with the outstanding first class servers, whom he successfully carried over but also has a modern flair. Clean lines, open room, first comes into mind when first stepping inside. Unlike the traditional white table cloths, Herve cleverly designed its logo under the glass tables bearing The French table signature, a very nice touch. Tables line the walls for best view of everything. You can select from a menu created by Master Chef Herve Martin and served in the traditional French style. The critically acclaimed wine list boasts one of the best selections of Burgundy wines in Vancouver and is highlighted with exclusive wines from the family winery in Chamilly, France.

We ordered the lamb shank special. We received a small portion of sliced fat that could not be chewed. Also had the boulliabase which was boiled to a chewy consistency. Not what we were expecting from a french restaurant after seeing such great reviews. When we reported to the waiter that we had difficulty chewing the lamb, he said he... More

Was working in Vancouver that evening and remembered i had read an article about this restaurant so decided to give it a shot. We were NOT disappointed!! It's a small intimate little place. Great food, good presentation and very authentic French cuisine!!!!! Service was very good. Our server was very personable and had a good sense of humour about him!... More

We have been to the French Table twice - both for special occasions - once with family and once for a couple's evening - ambiance, service, food and wine list were superb. We will be going back.

A great place for a typical lunchtime bistro. Some very interesting dishes and the traditional steak frites. Will certainly come again.

We came upon this restaurant quite by accident, when our original choice for the evening called and told us that a power failure had forced them to close for the evening. Scrambling for a place at the last second on a Saturday night, this being our only opportunity to dine out with friends from out of town, we managed to... More

Ah, France. If you can't afford to go there, or don't have the time, the best of France is now on Main Street, at the French Table. Classic French cooking, a la Julia Child, understated and exquisitely polite service, endless atmosphere. Pricey, yes. But if you need to feel you're in France and just want some utterly delicious food, here's... More

Was very much looking forward to sharing a meal with colleagues, as we all love French cuisine. The waiter was not particularly friendly & brusque ( oh so Francais ) I thought for a moment he was a former employee at The Elbow Room. I had the bouillabaisse ( which I was so looking forward to ) but found the... More

Restaurant decor is very modern, reflecting the chef's style of presenting traditional French cuisine. Escargot cooked in the traditional butter and garlic style, topped with a puff pastry, salad of roasted fennel, arugula, and radicchio, and special chanterelle mushrooms in cream sauce -- all delicious. Very good main courses included the vegetarian plat du jour and moules frites. The salmon... More

Well worth the short taxi ride from of Downtown Vancouver. Food delicious (although the grilled scallops were a little over-cooked for my taste) and staff provided excellent service. The only downside was the US branded wine we choose was very ordinary and very expensive for what it was.

Lovely food, helpful staff great value. If you love french food I would recommend a night out at this restaurant. It's very small which is nice as it has a good feel about it. Staff know the menu very well and happy to offer suggestions which is great especially if you haven't been to a French Restaurant before.
