The restaurant/cafe is located in Gastown conveniently located near Canada Place and Downtown. It is unassuming to look at but is a great place to stop for a relatively inexpensive bite to eat. The bake their own gluten free bread and have a range of options for coeliacs.

Found this café by accident as it was off the main tourist area. Jason our server was excellent. The menu was very good and the food was homely and very tasty. The café itself was very comfortable and the atmosphere was great. Would like to have tried the homemade pastries etc, but we were all full from our brunch. This... More

Head to Acme for a wonderful setting and great home cooked food. Love it there and try to go at least once a week if I have a business meeting or a hankering for a piece of pie.

We had been recommended this place by a friend and actually went looking for it - I'm not sure we would have found it unless looking as it seemed to be just off the main tourist route but it was worth a little detour. We were there at a quiet time of day (about 3pm) for a late lunch but... More

This is such an amazing café! The service is great and the food is unbelievably good! One of the really cool waiters recommended the homemade oreo cookies, which were divine! And they have a really good strawberry milkshake! You need to go there!

We were looking for somewhere and judging every place by superficial appearance. This wasn't an obvious shout-out-loud frontage with all its wares on display, but it had a quiet inviting ambiance: a pleasant airy high-ceilinged interior with whirling fans and understated graphic-neutral furnishings. Food and service were excellent. Proportions just right and quality ingredients. Pecan caramel pie best we've eaten... More

Breakfast on Canada Day, and found Acme thanks to Urbanspoon and cross-checked against Tripadvisor for accuracy. Alan, the founder, explained the specials, which included coffee with Maple syrup and Jack Daniels, and an omelette with marmalade, ham, cheese and onion. Very good both, and reasonably priced. O Canada!

Found Acme on google and decided to try it before hitting a show. Sketchy crowds outside on Hastings but great food, and if I hadn't been so full I would have definitely tried dessert. I love the lack of deep fried food and the thin ciabatta turkey sandwich was amazing! I highly recommend the Acme Cafe.

Went here about 6pm one day for coffee and cake after exercise. I had recently been to the Lost and Found cafe nearby which I loved and was sort of comparing this with that. I felt the server was a bit hurried and dismissive of me when I first came in. Efficient but not the engaging enthusiasm present at many... More

I'm glad you enjoyed your pie, but I don't understand how your bill came to $13! It would have come to $8.93 ($2 + $6.50 +.43 tax). If you were mistakenly charged more, please contact me so I can refund you! More

This is a hidden gem on Hastings Street. Perhaps not the most desirable neighborhood BUT is located in a historical building and has that great "retro" ambiance complete with counter seating. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and give great service. No deep fryer to be found here. The menu doesn't change but they have three daily specials... More
