A gem!

Great chicken club sandwich, which we had to split because there was so much food, coffee was delightful as was the lemon meringue pie!

Absolutely loved this atmospheric little place - went there this morning at about 9am. Lucky we weren't later as there was a queue out the door (understandably). Suave but cute modernist late 50s French vibe with a clean interior design and smooth jazz in the background. We had some of the maple bourbon lattes on special and let me tell... More

Decadent grilled three-cheese sandwich with cranberry. Sides of broccoli-almond slaw and chips (could have had soup, but somehow whenever I ask what today's soup is, it's %$$# mushroom!). Perfect, not too large, not slathered with extra ingredients. Wife's Montreal smoked meat sandwich also scored high. Very good quality at the price range. Decor scores 0/10, and it gets very noisy,... More

Stayed a minute away whilst visiting Vancouver. Loved this place. Friendly staff, delicious homely food all freshly prepared. Loved the retro style too.

I heard through the grapevine that Acme Café had great pie. That was reason enough for me to try it out. My sister and went in with a plan: share one dinner to save room for dessert. We enjoyed their BLT on multigrain bread with a side of mac & cheese (yes, that is a side option) and we added... More

I wouldn't rush back to Acme, but I did like it when I was there. It's solid diner food, but because it's in Gastown it's not necessarily diner prices. Everyone in our group liked his/her meal, but no one was amazed by it. The pie special/happy hour is a pretty cool idea, though. That was my favourite part of Acme.

- 4 times in a week for lunch or breakfast - fun, funky and great food! The people are extraordinary - make sure you sit at the counter to enjoy the buzz and activity!

I would rate this place a zero because the staff working there were really unmotivated and uneducated about customer satisfaction. The guy at the counter would not even answer questions properly and when we asked a lady to later warm up our dessert she literally mumbled something like "oh ya i will get him" referring to our waiter who we... Sorry for the mixup regarding the heating of your dessert. I think the confusion started when you ordered food to go, then sat yourself at the counter. We are a full-service restaurant with table service and a sign asking that you wait to be seated, so when you sat yourself with your to-go food the servers would not have generally... More

My most favourite place in town! I highly recommend to wait if there is a line up! It is totally worth it! For all of you who need to eat gluten free they probably have the best homemade gluten free bread I've had in Vancouver!

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
