Big portions and fun guests

The wait was 40 minutes for a table, but then again, we were walking by without reservations on a Saturday night. Because they don't have a waiting area, they usually just take cell phone numbers and call you when a table is about to be free. Despite the long wait, Yaletown is busy enough that we... read more

every portion of our meals was great, and we were lucky to get a table as a walk in on a Saturday night. Value for the price, very gastro pub style food with a twist.

We had just an hour in which to sneak in a meal--with a bottle of wine--before a show and chose Flying Pig because of the great reviews. So glad we did. Food was terrific--great salads, perfectly cooked fish and veal, interesting vegetables, well seasoned risottos--we loved it all. Wine list offered outstanding local options like Painted Rock Icon and La... More

We were referred here for Happy Hour by two different establishments (the Barking Dog and our Hotel, Opus). It was super fun place. Great feel--windows were open and lots of bright light. It was pretty crowded, but they were very accommodating and helped us find seating at the bar. This was nice--too many times you have to "hover" for happy... More

Nice friendly staff greeted us. A bit crowded and noisy, even on a Tuesday night. Tables close, so we got an earful of our neighbours' conversation (they're great at business and irresistible to women). I had the half chicken which was excellent. My wife had the seafood pappardelle which she loved. Finished with their pecan pie. Recommended but be prepared... More

Amazing food -- steak frites, the Mac and Cheese, Brussels Sprouts to die for and a salmon sampler that had my Parisien friend fawning the whole time. The food was perfect and very reasonably priced. But what put this night over the top was the most lovely staff I have ever had the pleasure to dine with. Joshua is in... More

First, the Happy Hour, or Appy Hour at The Flying Pig is a great deal! We loved the Truffled Jumbo Macroni. In fact, it could probably only be topped by the Jumbo Shortrib Macaroni, which we had with a delicious T.F.P. Iceberg Salad as a late night meal after a U2 concert at Rogers Arena. We found the Flying Pig... More

Trendy restaurant in Yaletown. Amazing food and a great atmosphere. They don't take reservations for dinner so show up and wait the 20-30 minutes for a table. Totally worth it.

This is by far one of our favourite restaurants in the whole of Vancouver. We have visited the flying pig a couple of times before in recent trips to Vancouver and it certainly keeps getting better and better. The food is incredible it is a little rich however you will not be dissapointed. The portions are big so we shared... More
